      • +1

        Yes

        • Thanks!

  • How long will this $10 promotion last?

    • 30 days from signup mine said

      • +1

I mean when will they cancel this promotion so I know when to stock up lol

  • So what is stopping you from signing up to a new account every time you go there?

    • Nothing until IKEA decide too many people are abusing this "feature" and pull the offer 😉

That, or until they decide to fix it by requiring an ID check when signing up, as well as making the changes I talked about previously in this subthread above. (Never gonna happen, though.)

IKEA had an American Express Card rebate deal come out on 11th April. Spend $150 via your Amex card and get $30 back. Great, except within an hour of broadcasting that to Amex card holders, we got a message in reply saying that the maximum number of participants had been reached and one could no longer sign up for the deal. One hour! If the goal of that exercise was to gain goodwill and make people like IKEA, it failed. They angered and alienated 90% of us. If their goal was to use this to sell more goods, then they also failed because they could have sold about 90% more if they had not put such a severe limit on the number of participants!

It was posted on OzBargain long before you got that e-mail from Amex.

  • Bought some ikealoops with other bits and pieces and they didn't apply the family price for the ikealoops?

    Oh well…..

    • Just to be clear, are you saying you scanned/entered your IKEA Family membership number, redeemed the $10 Reward (and got $10 off your sale), didn't have an IKEA gift card in the bits and pieces, and ended up being charged full price for the ikealoops?

      • +1

Scanned in ikealoops plus three other items.

        Scanned in Family card.

Scanned in the 10 dollar voucher.

Paid the difference and was charged full price for the IKEA loops.

        • That's weird, as scrypton did get the member price for ikealoops (as stated in this comment above).

Maybe IKEA changed the rules without letting anyone know. (I checked their website and the Terms and Conditions don't seem to have changed.)

Or maybe their system is broken and sometimes you get the member price and sometimes you don't 😉

@robinCTS: I got the member's price for the laddas as well as the $10 off too

            • @CVonC: Can you please post the extra info in the list below?

          • @robinCTS: To all OzBargainers: So we can track down what the issue is, can everyone chiming in please post the following details:

            • Date of purchase
            • Store
            • Whether or not an IKEA gift card was included in the purchase
            • All the items in the transaction (if that's not too personal 😉)
            • The item(s) that have a member price
            • Whether or not the member price applied

I'm going to assume that the $10 discount occurred (and the membership number was entered/scanned) for anyone posting details.

Maybe the issue is that I scanned the items first, before the family card?

              • @dyziplen: Ah, yes! That is definitely a possibility.

It shouldn't matter when you scan your card, but it does for some retail chains.

For example, a Coles Group staff discount card can be scanned at any time during the transaction in a Coles Supermarket store and it will work.

However, in a First Choice Liquor store, when doing a price match on an item, the card must be scanned first (or the whole transaction must be cancelled and repeated).

Maybe that's another data point we need to capture.

                @dyziplen:

Maybe the issue is that I scanned the items first, before the family card?

The check out chick scanned the items first and then the newly created family card (barcode on the email) which gave me the member's price for the batteries. She then scanned the voucher barcode for a discount of $10.

                • Date of purchase was: 07/04/19
                • Store: Marsden Park, NSW
                • Ikea giftcard was not purchased
                • All items were 1x AA Laddas amd 1x AAA Laddas
              • @dyziplen: Would you mind posting the date of the transaction? (Unless I'm going blind, I can't see it in the receipt pic.)

  • has it ended> ? i dont see $10 on home page?

    • all good still got email offer with $10 today. anyone know when it ends?
