The problem with these Chinese tablet, the spec looks amazing on paper but then there are lots of issues from reviews ie battery, heating, connection, screen quality, etc

Some brands are better than the others.. Chuwi and Telcast are both quite good quality, and I would recommend them.

      • hmm bought a telcast tablet a couple years back - in about 6 months of medium usage the battery was only lasting 30 mins and it was getting very hot. it stopped working not long after that.

they're probably better nowadays; though i'm sure these manufacturers know most (overseas) people won't go through the long and painful hassle of trying to send them back for warranty, hence the low prices :p

Indeed, back then I had bought 3 tablet from teclast. 2 of them already died. One of them the screen was having an annoying artifact when I pressed which eventually gave out.
Another one the battery became swollen so much that it partially pushes the back cover off. Had I continue using it then I would no doubt end up conjuring a mini firework at my bedroom.

They put Jack all afford in thermal control. Watch YouTube? The cpu still spiked up to 77°

I bought a Teclast F7 laptop on release for ~$350, and it's excellent except for the battery. Snappy n3450 6gb for office and pretty much unlimited chrome tabs and an actually robust metal construction that's taken many hits and falls. The keys are good, the trackpad is fantastic and so is the screen. BUT it only lasts like 3.5 hours lol. Not really a problem for me as I always have it plugged in though

-most of the bugs should be fixed by now
-this is a mobile phone SoC so battery is actually pretty good, and it has aggressive throttling so it doesn't heat up, max ~40-50c.
-battery is quite good 7-8 hrs reported on medium brightness
-bad connection issue is usually due to assembly errors and antenna positioning, you might get unlucky but for the majority it is fine
-screen quality is one of the main features of this tablet

there are tweaks available that trade performance with battery life:

tho i wouldn't recommend gaming on this tablet due to the weaker gpu + high res

  • Great tablet brand, if you can get them to work.

Also beware, the real product doesn't look like the photo, go on YouTube and see it's video of real product.

FML this just arrived last week for me, paid ~$277 for it a month ago on BG.

Pretty much unbeatable in value if you just need to watch videos or scroll PDFs, the screen is incredible, but the speakers are a bit soft. I make do with a equalizer app. SoC is a little slow on stock firmware but there's a surprising amount of development work going on on XDA since it's treble-enabled, and CHUWI announced that it will be officially updated to Android 9.0 in 2019 (not here yet).
