My son has been on the $9.95 OVO mini plan for a while and its been sufficient for him mostly. Today I got an email that said they're doubling their monthly allowances to 2GB and 500 mins calls, you still get unlimited SMS/MMS and it's on the Optus network. Pretty good value for under ten bucks for teenage kids. In fact, I might call this a bargain, what do you think?

Ahh, so not technically a bargain, just an outstanding price :) Cool.
I would have called an outstanding price a bargain.
current Amaysim (via groupon) deal -using Optus network - 6 months recharge for $8.64 = ~ $1.50 per month for 1gb + unlimited calls+text
Ah, then after 6 months the Amaysim one bumps up to a tenner each month for 1gb data quota. I can't be arsed hitting and running on plans for my kids.
fair enough. spend $8.64 and then in 6 months start paying $9.95 a month or jump to another plan, OR spend $60 for 6 months
$51 saved for sweet FA
Also, I already told my teenage son he now gets 2gb data per month to manage. Can you imagine the 15yo pubescent sh!tstorm I'd be in if I revoked that for the Amaysim plan now? I'd probably have to move out of my own home.
it's a bargain that's not because it's now the regular price.
.
but I am glad because my oldest always uses up her data
