So in the quest of making the most streamlined lounge room plex front end for all our media, I'm in the hunt for a good quality, reliable Air Mouse that works on a mac (Air mouse - that you wave and its moves the cursor using gyroscope or something). This seems to be what its missing so we ditch the keyboard and traditional mouse from the loungeroom.
Ideally, its universal so I can code in the on/off for TV & Soundbar, and change the inputs on both.
Not interested in alternative front ends moving away from Plex - and I'm already using the plex app to 'cast' from my phone and tablet, but unable to 'cast' live tv using the app, which is a massive PITA. Its blocked for whatever reason, and all the reading I've done online is that its not going to come to the app. This is the main hurdle I want to overcome with the airmouse.
I tried this with a $10 airmouse. One with a mini-keyboard on the back. It's barely usable, and just another remote.
We settled for a $30 wireless keyboard and mouse that is far more comfortable, convenient and reliable. The mouse works on most surfaces and doesnt require a mat to go with it. Our room isnt that big so we havent had a problem with range either.
