Transferring app messages (whatsapp & viber) from iPhone to Google Pixel

Hi,
I recently switched from an iPhone to Google Pixel. I've transferred most things over such as photos, music, contacts and apps via the chord you can link from phone to phone. However I'm missing the chat logs from Whatsapp and Viber and want to move those across too. I've tried googling some solutions but I cant seem to find any (that are free). The Dr Fone seems to be most popular but that is a paid program to use.
Any suggestions would be really helpful. Have any of you been able to transfer these chat histories over successfully? Or is the answer just that you cant move from icloud back ups to google drive?

      Yeah, this. You should be able to backup on your iPhone then log in to your account (or something) on your Pixel and download your message history. Not sure about Viber.

        Yes but on an iPhone you can only backup to iCloud, not Google account. Therefore you can’t import from a backup once you’ve switched as on a Google phone you can only import from a Google backup.

          Oh wow good point. That is freaking LAME!!!! You would think that it'd back up to Whatsapp servers not iCloud, what the heck…

            @Ghost47: Or at least give you the option if you want to back it up to google which should be possible on Apple products too.

              @jjjaar: Thank you. I'll just start a fresh I guess.
              FYI - WeChat is amazing because you just scan a QR code and you can migrate all your chats over on to any phone or select certain chats only. Why can't whatsapp have the same function…… :(

                @123456K: WeChat is run under Chinese law which brings in a whole new wave of issues. It’s also not encrypted (though whatsapp won’t be soon).

    Usually my WhatsApp gets backed up to Google drive, then when you setup WhatsApp again on new phone it'll prompt you for the restore . Super easy

      Is your whatsapp getting backed up to you're google drive because your using a google device?

      But on iPhone it is backed up to iCloud.

    You can’t move messages from android to iPhone or iPhone to android easily using WhatsApp. This is also in the FAQs for WhatsApp

    Had the exact same problem. I used WazzapMigrator (paid about $4 for it) and it worked in migrating all my Whatsapp messages over, but not any of the media. Not sure what you can do for Viber, but can vouch that WazzapMigrator works.

      I vouch for WazzapMigrator that it works. Had to fork out $$ as well
