the icecream tubs are awesome. picked up a free one when they had that give away a few months back.

I got a free Caramel Ripple with fudge tub, I wouldn't bother getting it again, even if was free!

      • +1

I got the Lamington one and would not eat it again. Too sickly sweet and not really good enough tbh, the ice cream wasn't even creamy, it was icy - even after letting it melt for ages (think 20+ mins). We chucked some out.

    (tastes like their kombucha)

    There's always a catch… :(

7 eleven staff are provided this in advance so they know which day to hide which product.

    • +4

The stores would usually order stock as per their usual business, not taking note of any upcoming give-aways. Which makes it look like they're hiding the freebie, however, stores are fully refunded the cost of the $0 product and I doubt most of the them would go the distance to hide the product. Some still might..

    • +1

why do they hide stuff? they keep it for themselves? prevent stock from going away (and if so why should they care)?

      • i have never encountered staff hiding stuff.

The only problem I had was an attendant not knowing how to scan the slurpee spider and wanted me to pay the $1 for the slurpee after scanning the icecream from the spider offer in January. Other stores' attendants didn't have a problem.

        • +1

I was at 7-11@RMH and these three dudes (teens) came with 2-3 ltrs jug on free slurpy day. Hippie kind of ppl.
Were told by store rep the slurpee was finished. They Said nevermind and moved on (another store?).
Guess there mates earlier came with 5 ltrs jug and finished it off…
That was hell of a popcorn moment.
Such is irony and sometimes store reps cant extend help.

      • I encountered the staff consuming the stock themselves. The attendant pulled a wrapper from the bin behind the counter to scan it so that I could get my freebie on an alternative similar product as the actual freebie had run out of stock. I had to almost beg him to though.

      • Hypothetical… scan them all as if they sold, get paid from Corporate for them == Get paid for holding stock.

        • Smart.. Where do you get all those barcodes to scan it for free?

          • @kc7: Could just make accts.

    • I don't understand the motive of 7 eleven staff here. If it was up to me, I'd have more stock and constantly keep sale items fully stocked to maximize revenue and profit

Apparently head office is slow to pay (months) and not always accurate while paying for promos, so some franchisees are less than happy to participate fully.

        • +1

Maybe if they paid staff decently they wouldn't do such things.

          • +1

@[Deactivated]: They are mostly Indian, and it’s common for them to underpay and ripoff. My mate works there, on paper is on minimum wage but then he has to give back some money pay for uniform or other fees. Boss always keeps 1-2 weeks salary on hold in case you do something bad or not show up for work and then he never gives it back.

I’ve seen him hide the product and call his mates to send him screenshots of his barcodes and he uses them and takes them all home, I saw it with my own eyes how they loaded almost full 2 cases of drink during the freebie month last time.

            • -1

@[Deactivated]: Big call mate. Prepared to state what store this would be occurring at?

            • @[Deactivated]: Your mate should report his underpayment to Fairwork Australia. 7/11 got into trouble for this recently. I'm sure further examples would be investigated and (hopefully) punished.

              • @yaziyo: Oh yeah, and those refugees are given pink unicorns on Manus.

I hope they don't hide the promotional products.

did anyone notice the 7/11 fuel price locking website http://fuel.ethergroup.com.au is down ?

    • I did make my own?

  • +1

Most of these are available in app today and only availability until 29th April

  • Kc7, Have they stopped the 'keep locking in (petrol) to get free coffee' promotion?

    • my app has an offer top and centre. Keep locking in! FRE Regular Coffee

    • I think they've reduced it to 1-2/month max.

      • It’s 1 per month for me from the lock (starts on the 26th)

  • +1

No stock or price label at fyshwick.

  • Does anyone else have trouble logging into this app? I have joined using two different emails to try and get it working but always get weird error messages like "GOLF"???

    • VW

  • No stock Kent St.

  • I bet you I will find those doughnuts today !

    • I usually have no problem finding the free stuff at my local 7/11 servo in Toowoomba. The only problem yesterday was the local paper posted on Facebook "FREE DONUTS" :(

    • what's new

  • 711 free promos are not worth looking for after 9am ( and even before 9am you are not guaranteed anything ).

  • +3

My experience with these promos is that if you happen to be in the suburbs, you'll manage to claim something (even later in the day). If you're in the city or somewhere else busy, unless it's 12:01AM, forget about it.

    • True. Still managed 1 donut yesterday at noon. Was the last one. Outer suburb VIC :)

  • Just drank the tropical drink on offer very different tastes but glad it's also sugar free

  • I just don't see the point having this free promo stuff anymore, I never meet any store that has stocks when there is a free promo…which of course they intentionally hide it.

It's very apparent that only the 'free' product that is missing all the time…

    • I just don't see the point having this free promo stuff anymore,

Because unlike yourself, others are actually able to redeem it?

      • huh? yes sir? how can i help you? did I mention you? or you are just trying too hard to troll people here by doing out of topic reply?

        • +1

mate, i feel you .. i was in the same boat yesterday with those doughnuts !

      • LOL .. what's the proportion of those who were able to redeem vs weren't able to, due to insufficient stock?

Before you warp yourself to be those keyboard warriors, perhaps you want to back yourself up with some facts, some numbers other than just mere opinion.

        • I take others to mean at least two people. Me and my workmate have fulfilled this criteria. Happy now?

          • @WhyAmICommenting: You mustn't understand what statistic means … forget it; i'm not here to educate.

            • @tempura: No need for stats, just logic as you were replying to:

Stop jumping to conclusions, I never stated that a certain number of people were able to redeem it.

Some could, others could not, it's as simple as that.

    • +3

I never have any issues to find them, probably like 4 out of 5. Usually on my way to work (9-ish). As others pointed out, I don’t live near the city though

I sent my freind in at the Tullamarine store, as she's a blonde, long haired good looker. What a surprise when one of the clerks had to get a couple hidden away in the walk in fridge section, it was the only flavour not in the main fridge.

      For a Remedy Switchel ?

      • +1

Yes sorry, for the remedy tropical switchel.
        I didn't mind it tbh!

    • Yes "hidden". Sounds like they put extra out knowing the demand.

      • +1

Sure, but there wasn't even a slot for that particular flavour, they weren't even in the customer side of the fridge.

        • Oh I see.

Move to Canberra. No issues getting the 7/11 freebies here. :)

    • 'Sent'? Can you send one to me too?

      • +2

Do you want a blonde, long haired good looker sent over your way ❔

    • Lesson here is to make friends with hot people.

  • I claimed a bottle this morning. To be honest I don't like the taste.

  • Out of stock at Canterbury and you can’t use this for other flavours. Manager gave me a free coffee instead. Score!

  • A few questions.

    (1) Do many 711s actually have extra stock 'out the back' and if they do, how much do they have. Like, for example, I assume most Coles or Woolworths have the stuff on the shelf, but then they probably have 4 or 5 'shelves worth' in the back, that they can use to stock up during the day.

711 stores are quite small some of them. And I assume that they are filled once at midnight, and then they have to last a whole 24hrs.

    (2) With regard to the promos, how are the stores paid? If they only receive the cost price back (after a delay) then of course they have no incentive to order more. Damn pain in the ass of having freebies with a franchise business model.

  • Putrid. Glad it was free.

    (full stock at Lithgow)
