TIVO: How much should I be paying?

Hi all,

I want to buy a TIVO for my mother, the user friendly GUI should suit her well.

What should I be paying these days? RRP still seems to be $499 (for the 320G)…..but doing a bit of googling reveals they have been had for under $400 in recent months.

Any suggestions would be great.

    I'd buy an EBAY $249 160gb job and then upgrade the HDD to 1gb yourself for around $80.

    I bought it in January at Myer when they had it for $349, plus a $50 cash back (and the wireless network adaptor for free). The price has gone back up, but was talking to a salesperson over the weekend and they expect the January deal to be bought back as an end of financial year sale (so some time next month).

    I've been following a few 160's over the last couple of weeks on ebay, and they are all going for mid $300 at the moment. Seems crazy I know.

    Thanks Dolphin, may hang off then…..the retail prices at the moment are ridiculous…..$499 everywhere plus $69 for the adapter!
