Men in Black. Who are they?

The other night on the way home from the Aus F1 GP. 2 beefy bald headed white guys in black jeans and tee shirts were waiting at Southern Cross station in Vic. They then got on the train and headed for the end room compartment. Never came out. Well not before we left the train after 10 stops. Looks like they may of headed to Frankston as that was the line we were on.

By the way there was a guy snoozing at the base of the door, so they may have been trapped in there.

Who are these guys?

Why would they be on the train? In this little room?

  • If one definitely wasn't Will Smith then probably undercover police or security forces.

    • Isn't it Tessa Thompson and Thor in the new one? Maybe it was an promotion thing for the movie

  • Probably been on the bombo and looking for a quiet space…

  • You don’t need to know. You don’t want to know. Just let it go.

    Just. Let. It. Go.

Wrong movie.. should be "here come the men in Black"

maybe they wanted to get intimate?
    maybe they were doing drugs?

what did they say when you asked them?

      Obviously OP didn't ask them.
(I'm sick of this "what did they say" implied statement we use in this forum)

I'm sick of people failing to directly ask the target for their enquiry which would then provide the answer they need, but instead ask random people who have no intimate understanding of that persons experience/perspective/situation to fully understand.

it's asinine in the majority of posts.

the use of "what did they say when you asked them" is a tool used to mock those who are too basic to undertake the most simplistic of tasks -i.e. ask the party whom would give the most appropriate, relevant and accurate solution/answer'.

post - "would the shop next door sell coca-cola?"
reponses - "they should, it's popular", "call the distributor", "complain to ACCC", "check facebook", "meandering anecdotal story with no bearing", "moronic statement about australias 2 party system and voting for either of them is the source of the problems"

the most appropriate response is "you stupid (profanity) head, what the (profanity) happened when you (profanity) well went in there and looked. how the (profanity) would we know." or "what did they say when you asked them?" i.e. do the most obvious thing and find out for yourself by actually asking and getting the answer..

        • I could not ask them. They asked me to move and they went in and were gone for rest of journey. Legit question, but I do know what you mean with respect to other situations. Hence why my post as I thought it strange and wondering if others had sen or know of what these guys do. Just curious.

          • @Melb69: yeah, nah, it's all good. that was a passing moment which is…in the past now.

the "why did they say" comment is aimed more at current situations where people have the ripe opportunity of asking now, rather than posting.

ordinarily plain clothes police have some indication that their are plain clothes police - e.g. handcuffs.

First rule of men in black club…

  • The guys were sitting in the dark. One of them looking at twitter on his phone. Is it for train drivers to transfer stations or to go home? Not having to sit with patrons.

First time I have seen anyone go on those part of the carriage.

Please look into this device - flash - you saw nothing

Security? Or police although that seems less likely.

    • I'd say security although all a bit odd.

  • Unless ASIO's/ASIS's leadership has been replaced by millennials, black T-shirts and jeans is not common apparel for real-life "spooks", or private security/undercover law enforcement.

I think the more likely explanation is that you witnessed some people break into the driver's cab of your train.

    • They had the key to get into that room.
