But what is the actual offer?
It says I have 2 Eligible accounts that can redeem it, but it's not clear what the offer actually is.
I got the same. You can click it without it committing you. However, it's probably only going to be 10 days like mine.
@tagin: I have my broadband with telstra also and clicked on the redeem through bigpond offers but also got a 10 day trail.
I called foxtel and told them about this and they said it should be fine, the 10 days only appears because its a new account and that I shouldn't be charged for another 2 years, guess I'll have to wait for the 10 day to run out and see what happens.
@Marty123: Let us know how it goes chief 10 days should be up on 31st?
This is what I see:

I just checked 'my offers' and found I have the foxtel now offer (as well as the afl, nrl, netball, apple music, netflix offers) on the ipad plan that I got last month.
Got it. 24 months included in your Telstra offer, then $25/month.
Your first bill will charged on or after 20 March 2021 and will be applied to your Telstra bill.
Thank the OP.
According to online chat its only available for those on a $99 plan
tried to redeem online, and got 10 days
me too - I tried on two iOS apps and each one showed 24 months in the fine print, then 10 days when proceeding to checkout.
Could anyone here with one free pack claimed from previous deals manage to redeem this offer?
Talked to online support.
"so basically the 24 month offer for Foxtel will only be eligible if you have the plan that includes the offer. The plan that is eligible is the Unlimited + Streaming plan for $99 monthly."
"There was a misalignemnt on the system right now, wherein were working on it to be removed, all the Telstra customer's are seeing those offers, but you can only redeem it if you're eligible for the plan."
Anyone not on the $99 plan manage to get it? Asking for a friend who shall not be named.
We pay $90 a month for cable unlimited through Telstra, 100 mbps speed boost included, and got the offer.
Yes on $89
Offer clearly showed up on both cable broadband plan and a sim plan. Online chat says it not an eligible plan so cannot apply the offer. The online My Offers page is wrong . And they also mentioned that telstra will not be offering Foxtel Now in the future at all.
Very disappointed. Cancelling the 10 day offer now.
I had it on my Telstra TV homescreen, clicked it, and it just launched the Foxtel Now app.
How do I know whether it has been applied?
Was just told by the Foxtel 24/7 Chat that it was a mistake being advertised and was told they were working to sort out. Subsequently I told them that I would cancel my trial to which I was offered instructions on how to do so. Welcome to telstra - I have been on service with them for 10 days lol
Called billing and said it only says 10 days after 2 year T&C
They told me to register it's 2 years as originally stated.
Very happy.
Have you checked the expiry date to confirm?
So it shows up in your Foxtel Now account as 2 years as opposed to 10 days?
Also did you call up Telstra billing or Foxtel?
It is showing 10 days, but now that I have it in writting and on a call recording it will be fine for me.
In saying that, I only registered for the standard free package and all the channels work. In the account it shows that I do not have them.
telstra billing i spoke to
Hi, long time lurker and appreciator of Ozbargain, members and posters.
This did work for me via the Foxtel Now App on Telstra TV (but not via the Telstra account offers page). I had deleted and reinstalled the Foxtel App on Telstra TV. Although not a fan of Rupert, etc, the two-year deal was too good to pass up. It does state clearly when you sign up on Foxtel Now App on Telstra TV that the offer is for two years. Obviously, this deal has to show on your Telstra Accounts page. It does also state on that page under things to know that the offer is for two years. To check it though log in to Chrome (Firefox isn't supported) to confirm it's under your account and it should be there.
I had a previous offer or two from Foxtel Now under different email addresses. I canceled one after getting a notice that it was about to expire and they still charged me. I was aggressive on their Facebook page and got a refund but it was extraordinarily difficult. Keep screenshots of everything. Cheers.
foxtel now are trying to say that its only for broadband + streaming unlimited plans, is what what anyone that had this offer work has set up?
I have NBN with Telstra and an iPhone and Ipad purchased with a data plan. The Foxtel offers were related to my iPhone and iPad but sure, definitely may not have occurred without my NBN, etc.
mobile supposed ended jan
This is a good deal, we currently have foxtel now for free with a telstra deal, so we can move across to this one.
Worked for me second time.
I had signed up earlier for 12 months offer and it was active till May 20, 2019.
Turned Telstra tv on and it did not show me offer, did a factory reset and tried again and it offered me 3 options (24 month offer, essentials+movies for 25$,essentials+sports for $29)
signed up for 24 month offer (lifestyle+pop) and shows ezpiry of 20th March 2021.did not want to miss in case they fixed their system and withdrew offer.
In between had contacted Support and they informed Telstra has stopped offering Foxtel now and its not option anymore.
How did you get it to show you the offer? When I open the foxtel now app, it asks me to log in.
If it helps:
I am on $89/month Casual unlimited Cable Broadband plan which I signed up for in December with free connection fee. My Telstra TV was also free due to Telstra stuffing up and me asking for freebie.
When I clicked sign up on my Telstra TV I used my new bigpond email to create an account. It displayed that my next bill is due March 2021.
Hope this helps, and thanks for being gentle for my first post.
How did you sign up through the Telstra TV? It's saying to sign up via the website.
On the same cable deal as you.
Ok need help here..when I turn telstra TV on.. And go to foxtel now app.. It tells me to login..there is no login option..how do I login to foxtel now?
Also while searching movies.. I could see option to for 24 month free..but when I clicked it.. It opened the foxtel now app and asked me to login..again there was no signing option..and later it was just buffering..so I restarted my telstra TV.. And boom that 24 months subscription was gone..i couldn't redeem it..anyone knows how to get this.
Maybe try a factory reset as one of the posters above has mentioned.
the 24 months will be in the app under offers…once you get the login sorted out
Did factory reset? It didn't work :(
they falsely advertising in my opinion
I wasn't able to register so I contacted there 24/7 they stuffed up my logging and then they said I don't have a compatible bundle to qualify for that offer!!!!!
can an English professor please translate what's in the above advertisement, please, no mention of a bundle or an expiry date to redeem
i thought grey advertising is against the law?????
I lodged an official complaint about it. I wonder what will come of it. It's kinda poor considering telstra was always touted as a 'premium' service provider…well they always charged as if they were one.
anyone else having a crack of the 10 day trial to see if it continues for free?
On the online chat now. Keep saying it is not in my bundle and I did not sign up for it. Which does not make sense as it is in offers with Netflix and kayo etc which I also did not sign up for.
How did others make official complaint, email?
I kept saying I made a screen shot of offer and the person in chat did not care about or ask for it. Did not even want proof of what I was talking about.
If my account is saying 10 day trial then the 24 months is not on there right?
so whats the go here - folks sign up to the 10 day offer and it continues to 24months. I can see the KAYO and FOXTEL Now offer on hub.telstra.com.au and the things you need to know mentions the 24 months. but when i click through to redeem, the checkout is showing 10 days and i haven't bothered to proceed further. Got a roku Telstra TV but can't seem to find the offer - where does it usually show?? will try resetting roku box to see if anything shows.??
I had a 12 month offer available then it vanished this week left with only the 10 day trial. Telstra reps say it was never there, im not eligible (cable 24 month contract) blah blah. Absolute rubbish, it was there! Ugh, should of clicked it last week. Another reason to ditch Telstra when the time comes.
Same for me. It was last week and vanished this week
When this offer was posted on ozbargain on the 19th March….I ran to my telstra tv1 and redeemed the offer….after filling in details on my tv screen…I was given a link to log into. (now.foxtel.com.au/redeem/XXXXX)
Then I went to my Telstra TV 2 and did the same there…so I ended up with 2 different links.
A couple of hours later when I tried both links on my computer….both links didn't work. Very sad…but I read through the posts and thought ok…foxtel have realised their mistake and are fixing it.
Today I decided to try again and one of the links worked!!! Got 24 months free foxtel. The other link didn't work at all.
For those of you who got links….keep trying them!
Does that mean you already signed up through Telstra TV, then get a link to activate? I think what I did wrong was signed up through hub (instead through TTV) which only gave 10 days trial. I couldn't be bother with the hassle I cancelled it. Even that I have to call Telstra to cancel and the process was tedious.
On both my Telstra TVs…when I clicked on Jon Snow. The next screen asked me to Create an account and I had to enter in Email address, first name, last name, password, postcode and mobile number - very tedious using the telstra tv remote.
Then the next screen: Good News! We noticed that you're already a Foxtel Now and Telstra customer which gives you access to a special offer. To redeem, simply head to http://now.foxtel.com.au/redeem/XXXXXX and login with your username.
First one that I did was one where I didn't have a foxtel now account. And I got the 24 months with that.
Second one, I already had a telstra foxtel account (the free one from last year which expires in May). I was hoping to extend that one by 24 months. However…..the error message when I try to redeem it tells me that I already have an existing Telstra offer and can't redeem it. I will keep trying.
Thanks this is very detail. It will be useful for ppl who haven't claimed. As for me, already screwed up through hub, oh well.
Thanks OP
redeemed my 24 month starter Pack
the offer in my account says redeemed. I think when I signed up for foxtel now because I was still logged in with foxtel it used the info from that but I changed the email username, password is the same as foxtel.
Does this mean it will not work for me? Will signing up with different email work? I did this on computer.
For those who went with the free 10 day trial how did it go?
My trial ends tomorrow at 11:59 pm. I emailed them a while ago and just heard from them today. I sent them an email with photo of it in my offers.
The person thought it was a mobile offer, maybe that is the problem we are having, in that think it is mobile offer which has expired and don't bother to look into it. But in the terms it does say broadband offer, so I guess I will see what happens, hope I get response today.
Just received an email from Telstra:
Thank you for getting in touch with us on 26 March 2019 about a complaint relating to your Telstra account number .
I can be contacted on 1800 241 787 or email at [email protected] any time Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm (AEST/AEDST). Please quote your Telstra complaint reference number SR when contacting us.
Thank you for raising your concerns with us, I look forward to chatting with you soon.
Does this mean they now want me to contact them or are they just updating me and still deciding on what to do?
The email I received yesterday talked about my complaint and asked me to send email to the complaints email above.
Did you get charged for the next month?
@dins: Will find out after 11:59. Not sure if I will get another email tomorrow from them or they now want me to ring them. If no email tomorrow I might ring them tomorrow afternoon.
On the account page the trial that was there before has disappeared from the page. Won't really know anything for sure until tomorrow.
@star64: I had the same issue with the 24 month offer changing to 10 days. I complained to Telstra who told me that I had to talk to Foxtel. Talked to Foxtel who kept telling me that I should have redeemed the offer through the Telstra 24/7 Hub (I did!!!). Today, on day 4 of my 10 day trial, Foxtel emailed to say they cancelled my account and deleted my email from their records so that I could try redeeming the offer again. Of course, I can't because I already redeemed it. They then said because I "had no offer showing", it's a matter for Telstra. So now I'm left with no trial at all! Misleading to say the least…
@reneecatherine: I got all this as well..pathetic.
Foxtel Now:

Data charges may apply. Telstra FairPlay policy applies. Full offer terms at telstra.com/foxtelnow
FoxtelNow subscritpion $25/mth for Entry level pack . Requires internet and compatible device. Data charges apply. Subscription required. For use in Australia.
So what happened with the 10 day trial people? Did they have the 24 months honoured?
not for me - cancelled and last day today. just have a notification banner saying " Your A/C deactivation is being processed".
Absolute dogs
same for me cancellation being processed..poor effort from telstra
this worked for me! (telstra cable user)
