Xiaomi Roborock Vacuum Error 10 Fan Slow

My roborock after 3 months of use,
Last night it started saying the filter may be wet error 10 code. And fan is slow, less noisy when I have it on MAX.

The fan sound lot slower. (Its still working. But unsure of suction power the main brush is rotating.)

I replaced new filter, replaced brush.
Took disassemble the whole machine to take out the FAN and gave it a thorough check and blow to make sure no object inside.

Put it back on, same error code.

Tried resetting to factory firmware, tried rebooting, tried new software, tried re syncing. Nothing worked.

Has anyone tried any fix that's successful?

Should I spend the money to buy new Fan or new filter casing?? And try?

Will filter casing be a problem? Never found any info on it though.

It's a 2nd gen.

  • probably stuff caught on various rotating parts. If you cant send it back, just dismantle it and clean out the insides.

Do you have a long haired pet?

Took disassemble the whole machine to take out the FAN and gave it a thorough check and blow to make sure no object inside.

    oh nvm.

Does it have a belt anywhere? is it slipping

    The fan sound lot slower.

maybe you'll need to replace it.

    • Belt??? No belt.

Weird thing is if it's the fan malfunctioning at slower speed all the time, why does it keep giving error code 10 which says the filter may be wet, dry or or replace it.

      Dont get it al all.

      • I think it's a side effect of the motor dying on the fan. If it's struggling to maintain a speed, it just assumes that the fan is blocked (would be most likely).

        that would be my guess.

As for belt, i havent dismantled to the same level, it was an assumption from the disassembly videos of the laser scanner.

        • Ok….I guess I will have to spend the money to buy a new fan just to find out

Unless any other have experience in this …

  • 3 months

did you get from local gearbite or overseas gearbangcoolie

    • Gearbite or gearbest….I forgot .
But it's one of the deals from ozbargain.

I disassembled it myself, so that voids the warranty already I believe

      • gearbite is in melbourne and they have aftersales service that handles warranty well, as they must comply with ACL

is there any warranty sticker got ripped? if not, try put it back together and go through the gearbite warranty process (just don't mention you've opened it up)

if it's gearbest then forget it, you might be lucky they offer partial GB credit

        • There are warranty stickers on top of screws.

I think there are two or three.
So warranty is voided. I personally dont believe in warranties much….unless it's a 2k electrical product.

So buying Chinese electricals is just hoping for the best

  • Will filter casing be a problem?

You tried a new one, so guessing no.

Not sure on the Gen 2, but can you remove the filter and try it. BUT DON'T let it suck up anything!!!

should I spend the money to buy new Fan or new filter casing??

    I'm guessing fan.

  • @lovepub did you get the problem sorted? If so how did you fix it? I've got the same problem with mine atm.

    • Buy new motor fan part from ebay or aliexpress

Replace it and will be back to normal.

  • +1

Same problem here as well. It always have a message saying fan speed is low…error 10…

    • Fan motor is damaged.

Try cleaning it and if no work, replace motor.

Dont buy aliexpress as china shipment held up by virus indefinitely

      • Thanks mate, is it easy to replace the motor?

        • Yes. Not hard at all.
Just youtube the instructions and step by step. Cant go wrong.

  • @lovepub 3 months old so wondering if any warranty could have helped here

    • i think i bought it from ebay…didnt bother with warranty as i ddin't think i would get lucky.
so just went with fixing it myself.

  • This is late, but I was having this problem the past few weeks. Replaced filter, replaced main brush. Eventually did the maintenance I'd not done in ages - cleaned the sensors, after reading the sensors somehow detect the fan speed? Anyway, that simple motion seems to have fixed it.
