NBN 12/25/50/100/1000? what is the download and upload speed theoretical and expected show BOTH.

It is a good plan but no idea how you deal with extra charges and fees and what not.. looks good on the surface but what are the gotcha moments and fees that are hiding in the Critical Information Summaries and Terms and Conditions pdfs etc.

Great start tell us more and tell us all.

Let us raise the standard of the ozbargain community.

It is ok to do rubbish posts but try adapt and give us all the information if possible.

    We need more.

    • What do you mean by extra charges and fees? When I signed up I asked and no fees and extra charges.

      • Some have sign up fees like tpg.

Some do annoying cancelation fees when trying to port out also tpg.

The phone plan would be the most worrying in this situation.

        • No sign up fees for us.

          • @[Deactivated]: I mean if it is 100/40 and you need that 100/40 then it is an OK plan.

But honestly even my place only needs 50/20 and that includes currently 2 gamers and 3 YouTubers.

If there was a 30/10 for a cheaper price I would take it as that is about what we need.

they wouldn't even offer me this package - says I have to pay $90 for the 50/20 speed then another $30 for speed boost. In my opinion, I think this deal is decent.

    • We joined in approximately between July to August last year at JB HI FI. Not through Telstra. But now JB HI FI clearly states only for Standard Evening Plus speed (50/20) only.

  • If it is 100/40 plan it is a good deal as I have not seen a 100/40 plan below $70-80/month so far yet that has not bankrupted into oblivion.

If it is a 50/20 plan it is a bad deal even if you make use of the extra unlimited local calls ($10/month is average for unlimited local calls to landlines, mobiles and some special numbers), Foxtel Now ($?/month) and Telstra TV ($?/month).

And here is why, mainly because you can get 50/20 nbn for $60/month if you go with Flip TV.

    https://www.fliptv.com.au/nbn/

And if you want to go even cheaper Belong does some mystery 30 megabit per second download $55/month if you go on a 12 month contract and you get a free wifi modem and $0 activation fee which equals $660 minimum cost over 12 months however I have no clue what the theoretical download and upload speed are so it is essentially 30/?? nbn for now unless they are lying and exaggerating a 25/5 plan or being super generous and underwhelming a 50/20 plan who knows but that is what they have got on their website.

    https://www.belong.com.au/broadband/nbn

There is also exetel, my republic, aussiebroadband (only if you want 100/40 though the rest are not competitive) and many more the choice is yours but at the end of the day Telstra is a pretty sure thing that they will still be here in 5 to 10 years can't say that for the rest of these ISP's who knows (recently Telecube and Mungi have shutdown and my guess is Tangerine or LetsBeMates might be next possibly Flip TV but it seems their other business selling overseas telly seems to be keeping them afloat).

Sorry if some of this is worded a bit funny didn't get any sleep last night.

    Hope this helps.

Man this Sydney weather is wack.

    • Looks like Belong are overstating the 25/5 plan as 30mbps to me!

      Starter - 30Mbps download
      Standard Plus - 40Mbps download
      Premium - 80Mbps download

The Standard Plus and Premium appear to state expected evening speeds for 50 and 100mbps plans, Starter appears to be downright lying, even looking at the max sync rate of 28800kbps on a 25/5 connection it's sketchy to state it's connecting at 30mbps, but NBN then throttle connections that are syncing higher back to 25mbps throughput anyway.

      • Yeah that was my thought also.

It is kind of bad and shady what they are doing but it props to them for their sneakiness that had me fooled for a little while as I am still sometimes a risky gung-ho punter.

  • How and through what channel (web, chat, phone…) were you offered this deal?

  • Can I have the reference number please, online chat told me premium evening speed need to pay extra $30 per month.

    • Excuse me, what are you exactly talking about? This offer was only at JB HI FI and the offer ended last year June or July.

      • you said you just added this plan on Monday 18th March 2019 ,and got a premium evening speed is up to 100Mbps/40Mbps
