I need to buy tools for some DIY projects around the house like building a deck and maybe a side gate. I'll probably need a compound mitre saw, regular drill and a hammer drill plus a few other things. I have one month before settlement so was wondering what's the best way to purchase tools at a discount or where to get deals for new tools.
Looking for Discount on New Tools

Buying in a big kit is a lot cheaper than buying individually.
Wait for a good redemption offer.
Wait for store voucher "cash back" deals.
Generally, you can buy with all three conditions overlapping. The store voucher "cashback" seem to be on around major holidays and EoFY.
Depending on your intended use of mitre saw, consider a cheapie like a corded ozito but with a larger sliding setup. Cheap cordless 8 inch mitre saws will not cut through 90x45.
Thanks, might see what comes up this easter holidays
Total Tools stock a good range of everything a handy man up to a tradie will ever need at fairly reasonable prices. Quality is good.

Otherwise Bunnings if you are after cheap and cheerful.

Consider hiring the larger tools if you aren't going to use them much. Also get a hammer/regular drill combo instead of one of each.
