$2 Varta 4x AAA NiMH rechargeable @ Ray's

Was at Ray's Outdoors Nunawading VIC today and cleared out the last 5 packs as they were being cleared at $2 a pack! That's 50c per battery. I think Coles has had them at this price before too.

Only posting here in forum cos I'm unsure if the price is at all Ray's or not, as the tag said manager's special. They were also selling the normal non-rechargeable Vartas and other batts for $2 too.

And don't bother with the $2 "Royal" brand 100% plastic card decks - they are rubbish lol - too thin and a grey tinted colour!! If I go back that way I may stop by just to return them haha. (>> $2 huh)

Also bought a pair of their sunnies for $15 (usually 20) for a good elcheapo pair that i can use like when working in the backyard etc. They're polarised! They're actually not bad at all, could get away wearing them out, but I've got my Oakleys <.< for that lol.

What else oh, the headlight 3 LED for $10 (usually 20 so half price) which is now running off 1 x AAA much better than the one that I bought a couple years ago from Aldi that uses 3 x AAA and weighs a tonne on your forehead lol. This is so light in comparison, and my little girl loves it lol. Thinking to go buy one or two more even.

    Not sure about their rechargeables , but the quality of there regular Alkaline batteries suck big time. Even with full charge they leak and this was with remotes I had been using everyday. (I even made a video somewhere where I show the leaking battery registering full charge and all the corrosion)

    Thought I go rid off all of them in the bin then brought out an older set top box last night and found the remote had Varta's that had leaked.

    Spent time cleaning all the contacts because of these lousy batteries. Never again Varta no matter what the price

      I've been sucked into them too… the price is great. But they do leak, and the life if not what I expect from Alkalines.

      Worse - the rechargeables and Alkalines look very similar. I am just disassembling my battery charger (again) to clean out all the corrosion, because somebody in the family has recharged a Varta alkaline and it's spewed white stuff everywhere.

        Hmmm, I hope the rechargeables are a better battery then cos I bought 5 x 4 packs of them..
