Best Inkjet Printer+Scanner Urgently Needed Today from OW Please Help

Printer broken down, urgently need a new one today, don't think I can go shop around, so probably only those available in OW.

Need to have both colour print and scan functions, then ranked by the long term maintenance cost like inks, followed by print speed, initial printer cost. Thank you very much!

Please don't do the research for me, as I can totally do that myself. Please tell me your experience. e.g. I have been using xxx for two years, printing 10 pages every week and it's still printing good. No need to clean the ink heads ever. Probably $xxx a month for inks and that brand frequently does discount on inks, good buy.

You know you could just ask them…

You know customers and store reps. are on the opposite sides?

Not really, and not always. Given something the size of OW, repeat business from good customer service and advice is probably more important than up-selling, at least when it comes to the specific model (unlike warranties, etc). Plus - you're buying a ~$100max printer, not a $2,000+ mac or the like. It'd be a 5min conversation at most.

Officeworks team members don't get commission on sales. There's no incentive for them to deceive you if that's what you're suggesting.

Since you know you're getting it from Officeworks, is there a reason you can't go on their website and do this research yourself? I doubt someone has an Excel sheet with comparative printer specs and costs already done, so anyone who helps you is going to have to go through that themselves.

For your reference, this is the Inkjets and MFC page: https://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/c/technology…

I'd say just get the cheapest: either the HP (7.5ppm b&w, 5.5ppm colour) or the Epson (8ppm b&w, 4ppm colour). The Epson also does borderless photo printing and has a higher max printing resolution, so I'd lean towards that one.

Sorry if I made everyone think I am after some dead figures. Asking here is because I want some real user experiences. Thanks for the suggestions, do you know their long term maintenance costs?

It's a $47 dollar printer. Plus it's an inkjet, which you shouldn't be getting if you need it for large volumes of printing anyway (for that, get a laser), or for small volumes but long-term (the nozzles will get blocked - also get a laser if this is the case).

I'd use it until the included ink ran out, continue using it for the scanner, and buy another $20-$30 printer if I needed to print anything else.

What are you using it for anyway?

Canon MX726, about 12 months old and prints around 100 pages a week for our home business. Only ever used $7.00 clone cartridges, and never had a problem

    • Wow sweet! But I can't seem to find this model from OW?

  • Forget Inkjet, just jump to Laser, go straight to MSY : https://www.msy.com.au/Parts/PARTS.pdf , when purchase, always purchase one more cartridge.

Unless I don't know how to read your pdf there is just one printer in your pdf and that is an inkjet.

    • "Balls to the wall" would be… this? 46 pages per minute (ppm) for colour and black. 1,200 x 1,200 dpi print resolution (which isn't that high actually). 2,000 sheet paper tray capacity.
