43" 4K TV for bedroom - Samsung or LG?!

We are looking to upgrade the tv in the bedroom, and I have been racking my brain on which model to get - so much so I missed out on the 20% GG eBay sale..

Currently trying to decide between the LG 43UK6540 and the Samsung 43NU7100. Both similar price. Both have very similar features.

What are people's thoughts? Has anyone got either of these models (irrespective of size)?

Will be used for watching tv/movies with lights generally off.

According to reviews online, the LG panel has terrible backlight bleeding (which is obvious with lights off), yet Samsung has annoying ads on their smart feature UI.

    Unless you sit a few feet away from the TV, 4K wont matter on a 43" TV. Save your money.

    If you have the room, slap in a 55"
    The price is very similar to the 43"

    I would go Samsung any day.. . but it's personal preference. I find that the real differences are usually at the top end models.

    Having just bought the 55 inch Samsung NU7100 for my bedroom, I must say I couldn't be happier with my choice. The picture and sound quality are both excellent. There are no ads on the smart UI.
