Cotton On's Nothing over $20 - Sitewide - Surely This Is Non-Compliant?

Hi All

What are your thoughts on this Nothing Over $20 -Sitewide promotion run by Cotton On today? https://cottonon.com/AU/

Barely anything is under $20 - making it misleading and also bait advertising. Further to this the Drake Cuffed Pants - https://cottonon.com/AU/drake-cuffed-pant/321341-19.html?dwv… - I have purchased these about one year ago and they have labelled it "New" to exclude it from the sale.

Pissing me off how much this promo is trying to lie to Australian consumers.

        This was my interpretation as well. At least have 75%+ of the website 20 or under….

    The fine print in the email states: "Nothing over $20 Promotion applies to Cotton On Women, Cotton On Men, Cotton On Kids, Rubi, Factorie, Typo, Supre and Cotton On Body SELECTED STYLES only"
    How is this SITEWIDE??

    There is no where on the website (that ive found) that you can find the promotional fine print, only the email.

    For example:
    In the Womens Jackets. 30 items are now $20 or under ( some were previously on sale) 181 are FULL PRICE and have been classified as "NEW"

    I have reported a complaint with the ACCC. Not that that means anything to Cotton On

    It's misleading but personally I don't really care. It's an online sale, so the benefits (to them) and cost (to consumers) is minimal - it takes you a second to click in and see that not everything is actually <$20, and close that tab. This is unlike physical stores where the customer would physically be enticed into entering the store (and away from others).

    As long as it's clear what the actual price of the products are before/when you're paying, I can't really work up any real outrage.

    It says excludes new arrivals. And it could mean new arrivals to the online site… You're better off going in store to their outlet or a Factorie Outlet. A lot under $5 and better than kmart etc, target also seems to have good markdowns.
