[Non-Gaming] AOC Q3279VWFD8 16:9 32" 2560X1440 5ms IPS $284 Vs Samsung 34" 21:9 Monitor 3440x1440 Ultra Wide QHD 4ms VA $536

Ok, I have narrowed the specs down for y'all but not sure how much each spec matters in real life. I just need real estate but i'm not doing any gaming (just hardcore data driven analysis of poker simulations). Lots of screen real estate needed though.

They share;
75hz
similar weight, samsung somehow allegedly .1kg lighter.

AOC Q3279VWFD8 31.5" Gaming Monitor QHD 2560X1440 75Hz FreeSync HDMI DP IPS
wins
$152 cheaper
IPS vs VA???

Samsung 34" 21:9 Computer Monitor 3440x1440 Ultra Wide QHD 4ms 75Hz LED LCD VA
wins
300 vs 250 cdm2 brightness
3000:1 vs 1200:1 contrast ratio
4ms Vs 5ms response
35% more pixels horizontally
2.5" more actual screen

Is it worth the extra $152 in your opinion for visualising more stuff side by size? would i notice the extra pixels and size?

If you have other alternatives in this price range, by all means please let me know.

    depending on your sitting distance

    32" 16:9 1440p … screen too tall for me , would prefer the wider & shorter 34" 21:9 unless you're coding

for office or multitasking, i actually prefer 3x separate multi screens setups

    • thanks for the reply…might be coding & multitasking sometimes.

Although will probably have my MBP by my side for random video-watching/distractions while i do my Piosolver and poker on the big screen/pc

    You want the 3440x1440 one.

It has the same horizontal resolution but larger vertical res so you have more real estate.

3440x1440 for sure. I didn't know the price broke the $550, seems like a steal.

  • thanks team. I guess I'll skip being a scrooge for once in my life and buy myself the extra resolution :)

It's a good deal for that size and res. I bought the same size asus for $800 + $100 gift card (original $1k with 20% off ebay code). Movies in ultrawide format have minimal or no black bars too.
