Looking for a Super cheap Webhost with cPanel Access

Haven't played around with websites for a few years,
Basically looking to Find a host with Cpanel access so I can build a wordpress website.
It's mainly just so I can build and lay things out, not looking to really have any active traffic apart from sending a link to 1 or 2 people

I even looked it trying to do it locally but got a little confused on how to do that.
Any recommendations or free suggestions would help

I use zuver, its the cheaper version of VentraIP but retains all the same features with cPanel access and wordpress integration. Definitely worth it for the cheap price, the servers are australian based too.

Go zuver. They are cheap and reliable. I've gone with cheaper hosts before and they were always extremely unreliable and had little to no security which sucks when your project gets hacked and infected even if it is just for yourself.

      • I’ll have to check again but I did read somewhere zuver was 15 a month which is double what I was paying when I was in ventraip

        • Just realised how much its gone up, I'm on a grandfathered plan, so it only costs me 72$ a year

        • Damn, I'm on an old plan too. That's a shame.

          • @tonyduffe: I didn't notice because I haven't been looking for hosting for ages. That's terrible. I wonder if VentrIP has raised their prices too? I'll have to try and find a good cheap alternative next time I develop a website or need hosting now…

            • @subywagon: No just Zuver who is really taken a turn away from the budget end of the market however their pricing if you take out the massive discounts they were offering are still relatively well priced in the market.

They now offer two types of hosting over there cPanel based hosting that allows you to build your own plan and something new that they're calling Smarter WordPress Hosting.

Regardless everything else left in the budget end of the market here in Australia is pretty rubbish these days. But you can find some good providers that would give you decent pricing compare to Zuver with a large first year or first invoice discounts.

              • @tonyduffe: I've been burnt badly and lost a big contract due to the performance of a cheap unreliable Australian provider in the past. Thinking about it more I guess I'll probably stick with Zuver as I've never had any issues with them for the 5 or so years that I've been using them.

  • Hosting on AWS might be a good option:
