Does anyone think it’s a bit stupid that at the same time the supermarkets bring in a single use bag ban, they launch loyalty promotions giving away small pieces of plastic?
I wonder how many bags they have sold since the bag program came in.
Why not give away Disney themed shopping bags, or am I missing the point?

Not much. The tiles are "tin plated steel wrapped in paper".

Is tin and steel in our oceans and landfills better than plastic 🤔
Both are rubbish promotions but tin degrade faster.
Then wrapped in plastic packaging.
Stupid? Depends. If the goal was to reduce pollution, yes that's stupid - but then if you really thought that was the goal…
If the goal was just good publicity like some of us have kept telling people, then it makes perfect sense.
It is a genius idea based on shareholders point of view tho.
Yeah, I assume the good publicity is to improve profits - which is what every company is aiming for at the end of the day.
Coles Little Shop actually increase the profits of Coles, and went down after it wears off
https://www.news.com.au/finance/business/retail/coles-profit…@boomramada: Sorry, I meant the good publicity around "oh look we're not giving out plastic bag anymore, we're just selling you plastic bags now instead".
The toys are just incentives to shop there like anything else (flybuys/woolies rewards, sales, etc).
all the kids toys nowadays are like this.. all those toys in the eggs, and the lollypop shaped ones
Considering how cute the Little Shop items were? No, I don't, it was a great idea already proven in other markets. Any other kind of promotion though like these lame 'tiles' nobody wants, ugh, yeah that's stupid.
Does nobody remember all these kinds of promotions they used to do for potato chips packets etc? That was the good stuff, lenticular evolving pokemon, dragonball figher discs, I still have mine in my childhood box in storage. Scannerz device too, get different monsters from scanning different barcodes and levelling them up, fighting etc. These 'tiles' are lazy by comparison.
If they put Picture magazine at the registers I would stop going to Aldi and go back to coles.
I wonder how many plastic bags equivalent to one Disney tile 🤔
