  • only available in Victoria? I love the concept of it - if there's a Brisbane equivalent, I know plenty of people who'd be keen!

    • Hi Mazley,
Yes this one is just for the Victorian U-Brew It, but there are similar setups in Nerang and Varsity Lakes let’s hope Zizzle are already talking with the other U-Brew It’s in QLD to get a deal like this.

    • try http://brewsbrothers.com.au/ at Woolloongabba.
I know quite a few people who use and highly recommend them… I'm currently saving beer bottles to do my own batch there.

  • Good post.

For those interested for one in Sydney i have used The Beer Shed (located in Campbelltown)
    http://www.thebeershed.com.au/

Get a few mates and brew a batch, tastes great and is cheap

  • Is this full grain or does it use malt extracts?

    • They use malt extracts

  • Can anyone confirm if they have been here already? wondering about the results…

  • i have been to the SA U-Brew here. Good product. But you need to be aware that you need to keep ALL of the beer cold, and it has a life span of 6 weeks. Well that was what the deal was here, not sure about VIC.

You can join the member club and get free samples whenever you can pop in… otherwise gold coin donation for a beer.

I brewed there Oktoberfest beer, was dark and fragrant and tasted great (others didnt like it, but they are used to Tooheys Extra Dry…)

    • sorry the place i went to was called "U Brew Here"… possibly a clone of this franchise. close but no cigar, so these guys may be different.. I apologise for mis-information

At the Vic U-Brew It they say if the beer is kept refrigerated it has a shelf life of 6+ months, Beer seems to only has a shelf life of about 1 week in my house though

      • even 72 bottles ?

  • This seems pretty good value to me. They provide you with the bottles to store the beer in, wheras other places you have to pay extra for them.

    • providing the bottles is a good bonus.

  • Not a great deal in my opinion. You are paying $33 a carton to brew your own beer, and bottle it.

In comparison, take a look at the "brews brothers" Brisbane website. Same deal, but for $150 you will get 6 cartons of beer….that's $25 per carton and that's the regular price.

    • You are paying $33 a carton to brew your own beer

      i don't think theses are 330 ml bottles…

  • +2

Their website actually quotes from $140 for 50 litres or $23.33/slab which is less than the special so not a great deal

    • +1

but unlike that there, this deal includes bottles, box, cap, stubby holder :)

I have brewed beer before at U-Brew It and the beer tastes great (not your regular home brew taste) Went with a couple of mates and we swapped a few of each others beers. The process was actually great fun, and on both occasions (preparing and bottling) spilt a fair bit of beer. Lucky my mouth was there to catch most of it. As long as you keep the beer away from heat and sunlight, mine lasted the couple of months i had it, before it too was spilt. Cannot recommend it enough, and this deal is more suitable to medium drinkers, as you only get half of the normal brew. Remember don't just break it down per slab or bottle, but you get a pretty cool experiance out of it.

  • It seems this deal is only for 25 litres as supposed to the usual 50 litres. So this translates to 72x345ml or if you spill a lot it's going to be 72x330ml.
I think it's good for ppl to try for the 1st time - especially those who don't wanna too brew too much beer (50 ltrs), this deal is good.
But you can pay from $140 for 50 ltrs but you need to pay for bottles extra $$.
