Gigabyte Radeon RX 570 Windforce 8GB Mining Edition Video Card $159.20 (eBay Plus) / $169.15 (Non Plus) @ FTC Computers eBay

410
PLUSMORE

Quite possibly the cheapest RX 570 8GB you can ever find on eBay. It uses the standard twin fan Windforce design.

This was originally packed for mining and it won't come with a fancy printed retail box — you'll get the card only and there won't be any accessories (like the driver discs or manual, who needs those?)

Functionally it will perform just the same as it's normal Gigabyte Windforce RX570 sibling. In terms of performance its pretty much neck in neck with the more expensive GTX 1060 3GB.

Unsure whether this qualifies for the AMD Raise the Game Promotion. Safer to assume that it does not.

For those that prefer playing on the Green Team, there is also a $279.20 Geforce GTX 1060 6GB Video card, very small quantities remaining. You will need to have eBay Plus to get this price.

  • *&%^ bought this yesterday for $179

  • You can also get Nvidia Geforce GTX 1060 6GB for $279.20 if you have eBay Plus. There's only 6 units remaining so there isn't enough for a deal post.

the AMD RX 570 and 580 cards however will consistently offer you more frames per your dollar.

Thats $120 more for a similar performing card that has 2GB less memory and worst of all, its a Galax…

It had 94 upvotes the last time it was posted, I guess most people just prefer to buy Green.

      • 148 upvotes for this 1060, many were even after it was ozbargained in like an hour.

Fuzor, one of the reasons why I'm holding out for a GeForce is that the TDP for the 1060 is 120 whereas the RX570 is 150, and RX580 is 185. Less TDP means less power draw, less strain on the power supply (especially for ITX builds with average power supplies), and quieter with less fan usage (these are presumptions not facts).

        • Nvidia is more power efficient, but comparing tdp between Nvidia and AMD cards is always fraught. They don't calculate them the same way.

          • @sackrace: I don't know that much about this stuff, tell me more (or link to any news articles?). I'm on the hunt for a low power consumption card for my miniITX build and would be keen to know the difference.

@Deridas: I'm not smart enough to add much more clarity than the figures aren't directly comparable between AMD and Nvidia.

Probably best way to get hard numbers is to find reviews for the cards in question where they list total system draw based on power monitoring and make your mind up based on that.

Having said that for a low power card if you get one that runs on only pcie power (i.e: no 6 or 4 pin power cables required) then you're going to be just fine practically. Just get the best performance card that fits that criteria and you're set. Which card that is I don't know, I stopped paying such close attention back when I got my 480 so I'm not current with the 500 amd or 1000/2000 Nvidia cards.

  • I wonder what 'accessories' there are in the retail box?

Usually nothing exciting and that you will throw into your computer parts junk box. like molex to PCIE power cable adapter and the crossfire bridge, plus driver disc

      • These days crossfire bridges are not needed and moles adapters really usually are not given

Its a good deal, but remember its a 2 year old card. Next generation cards are coming out now.

    • Next gen mid to low range cards from nVidia are coming out now. However, the upcoming ones are likely to be GTX 1650 (4GB), GTX 1660 (non-Ti, could we see a 3GB version as well?). Even if GTX 1650 got priced at the expected RRP and it managed to reach 1060 like performance, with the weak AUD, it will cost more than this (at least initially). So, unless you are willing to pay more for a card that doesn't require the 6 or 8 pin power connector, it is fine to go for bargain cards (but must be at bargain price).

Not to be confused with the RX580 which is actually a decent card.

    • RX580 is basically around 10-15% faster on average. It's not going to be a game changer. It's not like every game is just below 60fps on RX570 and just above 60fps for RX580. Generally, you would find that for most games, they are either above 60fps for both cards or below 60fps for both cards.

  • RX 570 for $160 or a GTX 1060 5GB model card for around $100 …. What would you choose ?

    • GTX 1060 5GB model card for around $100. Mind sharing the link to that deal?

GTX 1060 5gb are likely the fake 1060 sold on Ebay (Chinese net cafe) with a modified bios.

They only have 15% performance of a legitimate 1060 card.

A good way to tell if the card is fake is if you see the old vga output (blue female 15 pin) which is obsolete from nvidia range.

      • Good to know and thanks for the heads up.

    • GTX 1060 5GB and for $100, please try those numners again.

  • I honestly thought mining edition cards didn't have the output ports to distinguish them from actual GPUs.

  • I've bought the card and had some problems with installing the drivers for it (code 43). Turns out, the way to solve it is that you have to flash the bios of the card to the correct one as mine was modified/unsupported.

  • My order just arrived.
RX570 is clearly used. Some scratches but mainly there is a nice circular mark on the mounting bracket where the screw has been used to secure it to a case.

wrote to them and they have confirmed these are USED and NOT NEW as listed.
