  • Great specs for the price. Any experience with this phone? Quality? Thanks.

LEECO cool1 that i've got constantly overheats, wonder how this is

    • Had mine sold mine cos I got le pro 3. Stock ROM can be laggy which is leeco fault. Otherwise performance is ok

I wouldn't call it "great specs" - it's a mid-range spec from 3 years ago. I thought LeEco is pretty much dead given their boss is on the run from corruption and not paying off debts.

    • "great specs" and "great specs for the price" are inherently different concepts.

Oh man, the marketing exaggeration is so typical.
This phone apparently puts your vision to prison by ARRESTING VISION.

For this sort of money I would much rather a second hand older flagship phone like HTC 10 or LG G5. Or a Google Pixel 1 for a little bit more. YMMV.

    • All those are more costly, and likely used.
I too, would spend more on a phone, but if all you have is $100 this is reasonable bang for buck.

      • He did say they were second hand…

      • Your math is way off. This is 50% more.

@mskeggs If you are patient on eBay you can find good condition HTC 10 and LG G5 at $150 or cheaper and Pixel XL 128GB for around $200. I know because I have bought all three for myself and family members recently and they are all excellent phones and great value at those prices. G5 has the advantage of replaceable battery and dual rear cameras, HTC 10 has amazing sound quality if you have quality headphones, and Pixel is on Android Pie and has the best camera of the three.

        • I wouldn't recommend the HTC10, owned mine for 6mths, gets hot, unlocks itself in my pocket, battery started out great, now requires charging every nite, even without making a call & very light usage, may get 2 days max.

          Looking for something new now..

What i'm curious about is how they can afford to send a smartphone internationally from China to Australia for $2.44. You can't even send one of those from one suburb location in a city in Australia to another for any where near that price. Surely there's no delivery insurance either. It gets lost in the mail you kiss your money goodbye?.

    • yep, always a gamble, but unlike a casino, you often get your item…

The Chinese government subsidises all commercial exports out of China. Essentially shipping is free for any person or organisation with the exquivalent of a business number.

    • The international postage union sets rates for parcel settlement between countries for a set period of years.
      http://www.upu.int/en/activities/upuclearing/faq.html
It is hyper complex, but boils down to cheap prices for developing countries outbound mail.
Auspost gets paid much less than their domestic parcel prices for the last mile delivery of these.

  • Looks like an old HTC M7

    • Yep, they say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery….and that HTC M7 was one sexy phone for it's time. I had one and loved it.

Is this the same phone as here? https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/s2
Anyone using lineageOs on this thing and their comments?

Looking for something with similar specs and price to run lineage on it if anyone has suggestions.
    maybe Oneplus phones used perhaps?

    • I would like to know as well.

It looks like the same body as the old x626 which I have.

Its a fine phone for the money… my old 626 had 4gb 32gb nvram and the usual stuff like this one… also no sd slot (who cares) and no 3.5 (this is a bummer).

By now everyone should know the Le Eco story, they made a million phones but the company is in chap11 or the chinese equiv.? CEO ran out of china?

Anyway android 6.0 and no support no warranty etc.

You can find updated roms on xda dev etc.

Running lineage os 16 on my Le Pro 3. Runs mint.

  • I have this phone, you will need to install a custom ROM like lineage OS or AEX to get it up to android 9. If you are not ready to get your geek on, look elsewhere.
