Using Catch Connect SIM on Vodafone Pocket Wi-Fi

Hi everyone,

I just bought a Vodafone pocket WiFi model R216h. Been using it with a Vodafone sim without a problem. The device is 4g unlocked.

I got a new Catch Connect SIM which uses the Optus network. Although is unlocked I can not get it to work. I've been told I need to change the APN name which looking at forums it should be "connect" but then it asks me for more details like IPv4 /IPv6 numbers, username and passwords which Catch Connect doesn't seem to know what I'm talking about. Anyone has done this before?

Many thanks

  • Have you tried using the Optus APN published on the Optus website?

  • I put my Catch Connect sim into an older phone, and it needed the APN settings setup as per Optus' website before it would connect to 4G properly. I don't think it needed IP addresses nor username and password.

    Try the settings here:

  • These are the details the device asks me for. If I only add the APN, it asks me for the other fields.
    I have a screenshot here..

I might just use an old phone to do it. I had high hopes for the Vodafone pocket WiFi but it got complicated.

  • These settings work for my Catch Connect SIM in an unlocked Vodafone pocket Wi-Fi R207
