Telstra prepaid plans now have longer expiry dates.

The Telstra Pre paid Max always used to have a 28 day expiry.
Now depending on the amount, you can get a longer expiry.

The problem I see is with scheduled recharge ie they charge you on a set date ie the 3rd or each month. This is ok with a $30 recharge but not with the larger amounts.

They have also increased the international countries included and now appear on the $30 recharge.

Competition must be driving this, their coverage edge isn’t enough reason for most to stay.

  • This is similar to Optus new prepaid where it can go to 365 days for about $120 (Optus Prepaid Epic Value $180 for 60gb but in Eastland VIC, it is currently at $120)

  • This is now making me seriously wonder if I should get the Telstra 365 day prepaid plan for $300 or the Boost 365 prepaid plan for $150. The key difference being (other than the data allowance) that if I choose Telstra, I get access to global data roaming using their “day passes”. Boost has no access whatsoever to roaming data.

    • +1

Day passes aren’t applicable to Prepaid.

Your data is charged at $3 a mb

It’s on the cis I attached.

      • Thanks for letting me know!

  • For $30/$40 Prepaid starter pack, Telstra definintely has better value than Optus/Vodafone now after this recent change.
