Not sure if this is a bargain?

    • +2

It's no more or less of a bargain than PS+ or XBL Gold really - pay a subscription, get games. The bargain/value comes from how much you want the games on offer and whether the price is significantly less than buying them outright.

I'd say based purely on their previous historical lows, $12 for only the 3 games listed alone represents a great bargain:

And in my case they were all on my wishlist so it's a no brainer sub for me this month!

      • But you can subscribe then activate the games then cancel right? Or do you need to have an active subscription to be able to play?

        • Yeah it's more like Games with Gold because you get to keep them after you end your subscription.

        • You can pay US$12 right now to get the 3 pre-revealed games (Absolver, Mutant and Northgard) plus all unrevealed games, and then cancel immediately. You'll keep all pre-revealed and hidden games forever, they're almost always steam keys or otherwise permanently linked to an account (e.g. Elder Scrolls Online was through bethesda).

The whole 'hook' here is that if you don't pay your monthly subscription by an arbitrary date, you're locked out for that month. It's honestly a far more complicated and confusing system than it needs to be, but if they just revealed everything up front I guess they think more people would opt out if they don't like the games.

          You keep the games forever.

Make sure to put USD or AUD at the end of prices especially for stuff with regional pricing or just in general international items.

        Reduces confusion and misunderstanding.

For Dominus's post all his prices are in USD.

I bought northguard for like 20AUD the other day it is a pretty good game if you like RTS style games

I told myself a long time ago to not buy a game over 10 AUD I forgot the calculations involved but for some reason that is the sweetspot.

20 AUD is still ok but most games reach 10 AUD at some point or another I think don't quote me on that.

Having said that I have broken my own rule many times haha lol.

      • Yeah, Humble Bundle has caused me not to purchase any PC game at full price, I can wait two years to play a fully patched game.

        • +1

Having picked up some complete games with dlc for 4 AUD total it is hard to justify 20 AUD games anymore.. Even 10 AUD is hard sometimes.

    Thanks op forgot about these!

  • At just over 5 AUD for each of these and say 2 AUD for whatever the hidden games are it is a good deal.

The lowest I would expect to ever get these games after say even 30 years would be 1-2 AUD so you aren't really spending much over absolute rock bottom prices unless super nostalgic bundling becomes a thing in the year 2050 or something.

Man this service has really gone to crap. Shame.

  • These early unlocks are not appealing to me so I will be pausing my subscription for another month.

    • I paused my subscription last month, and so far this month has me wanting to keep it paused.

      • !Remindme 365 Days

I'll see you in a year… you'll likely still have your subscription paused going by the sort of games in the bundles lately.
