So I noticed that the Car and Driver app for iPad was free and expected to be sucked in to paying for each individual magazine issue.
WRONG!
All issues are free from the current May 2011 issue to October 2010. This is confirmed on their own blog http://backfires.caranddriver.com/forums/899/posts/30565-car… "for the moment, we're offering all the issues within our iPad app for free. When we start charging for iPad issues, we'll offer a subscription option. In the meantime, we encourage you to freeload!"
These aren't just PDF scans of the paper-based magazine; there are integrated videos and slide shows that really make you glad you bought an iPad. Plus, all content is downloaded onto your device so you don't need an internet connection while you read on the road.
Not sure when this is expiring, so if your like car mags, grab them all!
