Mens Dress Shoes

Looking for suggestions for some mens dress shoes that have some support in them as my feet are quite flat.

Saw some of the Julius Marlow shoes with O2 Motion and they pretty decent most around $200-250 AT DJs and Myer.

Herrings is great and the free returns are nice but you need to pay to ship the shoes back. Can be quite pricey back to AU.

My advice would be DJs or Myer, try em on and make sure they are comfy.

      • I'm a Church's guy. Bought a pair in store and ever since, I just buy the same size in the same last. Always fits identical.

Haven't tried on dress shoes in close to a decade.

Same with me. I know what size I am in Church's and other brands and I use Herrings all the time. The one time I changed brands I spent $90 posting them back to the UK.

          • @Randxyz123: Ahh. Rookie mistake. Once you find a last that's comfortable, pray they never switch. Loakrs abandoned one of their older flagship lasts and I've never bought from them since.

            • @[Deactivated]: Those shoes look great but the price tag is a bit much considering I only wear these shoes on a few occasions a year

        • Church are so expensive. I use to wear church before but I stopped. There are a lot of shoes companies coming to Australia and selling online. Great prices

florsheim are usually quite good and hugo boss if you want to spend $300+

  • Why do we call it mens dress shoes? Shouldn't be formal shoes or Oxfords?

    • Because I may want to wear brogues.

      • And derby's.

Derbies are not formal. You'd never wear derbies to a dinner.

                  @djkelly69: Mama raised me right.

She always said shoot the feral cats, always skin from the hooves and never, don't ever, wear derbies to the table.

Hush Puppies have some nice "wide technology" shoes which are good for flat feet.

Avoid anything with pointy toes as these tend to be more narrow.

  • have a look at https://124shoes.com/

  • Herring, pediwear or Robinson’s. Don’t buy shoes in shopping centres in Australia. Once you import a pair get a cobbler to put a topy sole on them, if you keep doing this when needed they will last decades.

  • I like florsheim.

  • I am a cheapskate, so I tried on some shoes at Myer/DJ and then bought the same model from https://www.ruzeshoes.com. They seem a little off like maybe they are seconds or something, but they look fine and seem as sturdy as the real ones.

$50 for some florsheims for work, I can't complain.

Try Rockport brand shoes - I also love a shoe with good support and these work well for me. If you work in the CBD I think they have a store near Pitt St mall where you can try them on.

    • Actually dropped in there yesterday and had a look. Quite nice shoes. Have you ever seen them go on sale? i'm not in a big rush so can wait a bit if theres a chance they will drop
