Here we go, another 1/2 price Olay deal.
If you're after a simple non-oily SPF 30 broad spectrum moisturiser for daily use, go for the Complete Defence Sensitive Moisturiser Lotion SPF 30+ - currently $7.50.

There was a discussion in the site discussion about duplicates in terms of supermarket deals - see thread. Basically the decision was that items not in the title of the catalogue post are not considered duplicates.
I've noticed that the weekly half price Coles and Woolworths posts aren't as frequent any more.
I know this is a community site but I'm wondering if some automation could be put in place for this, as the info in the weekly half price posts when they are made, is amazing (especially weeks since this price was last seen)
We used to have 3rd party site operators posting those mega supermarket deals but they seem to have gone quiet. We don't actually have access to the supermarket price data as they do.
@moocher: Ok I'll hunt down those 3rd party sites
Hi OP, just a silly question from me, do you think Olay is better than L'oreal men series? Thank you
I've never used L'Oreal men so I can't really say. I also can't say that every Olay product is good, but in general Olay has done quite a bit of research in terms of skincare and we have them to thank for bringing attention to Niacinamide (Vit B3).
I would suggest looking at the ingredients list for any product, and knowing what works for you and your skin type.
Edit: Not a silly question at all
Thanks OP, I will give these a try today, I think the more you pay on skincare products, generally the quality is higher as well. I remember last time I bought L'oreal men skin moisturiser ($16) lasted me more than 6 months, and was really good quality. I will see how these go.

Hmm I'd have to disagree with that I'm afraid. There are exceptions, like The Ordinary.
Priceline might have testers. Best to figure out what type of moisturiser /product you like and works for your skin. For example, moisturises can come in different textures, eg. Gel, cream, rich cream, gel cream, water gel.
Imo, I tend to find olay moisturisers a tad rich and heavy for me. Didn't work well for my oily skin, neither sit well under makeup.
@Ughhh: You use makeup?

That's understandable. I've only used Total Effects and the Complete Defence SPF 30+ product above. Total effects is heavier but the Complete Defence is ok for my combination skin.
@moocher: I used to use the complete defence before makeup days, feels like a typical sunscreen. Now I alternate between Nivea no shine and Mecca to save face, both works well under makeup.

Agree it's all personal. What works best for me is L'Oreal Men Expert Vita Lift 5 Moisturiser over a serum base layer.
Although olays pore scrub/refresher cleansers are not bad
Have you tried dabbing vegetable oil around your eyes? Try it for a laugh.
These are cosmetics. All they're doing is applying a layer of oil to your skin, there is no anti-aging effect. Niacinamide is made up as far as anti-aging.
Applying sunscreen has an anti-aging effect but obviously using this product is a dumb way to buy sunscreen.

Not true. Many skin care moisturisers contain water-based + anhydrous ingredients, I've never seen 'oil' as the first ingredient unless it is actually an oil product (Generally the higher concentration ingredients are listed first).
Niacinamide is made up as far as anti-aging.
It's not 'made up', there has been research done in the field of dermatology, but you can personally choose to not believe that. That's your choice.

If you just want 'sunscreen', yeah you can buy in in bulk at a cheaper price and use it on your face. However for some people the texture is important as well.

No ones talking about anti-ageing and "anti ageing" isnt the only reason why skin products exist.
Perhaps you should stick to what you know best, preaching about the Greens.
Going to Coles within 5 mins, there are so many to choose, I have oily skins, not sure which one suits me the best though
@Yaren24: The one that Ughhh was talking about is half price at Big W now. Since she has oily skin that might be a safe bet.
Edit: Sorry, you might not be looking for one with sunscreen. If not, please ignore :)
@moocher: Thank you Moocher!
@Yaren24: Pharmacies like Priceline and CW are more likely to have testers. As I said earlier, I find Olay moisturisers a tad rich and creamy for me. I tend to go to cream gel textures, its much lighter and but still moisturising. Nivea Aqua sensation is the one I use, I pair that up with the Nivea sunscreen Moocher linked. Neutrogena water boost has got decent reviews too, though a tad more gel/watery. Not as much fancy ingredients, so I use The Ordinary stuff at night.
@Ughhh: Hi Ughh and Moocher, I just bought Coconut Butter Formula and Olay Regenerist Revitalising Hydration Cream, will give them both a try and see how if it works, not sure about antiaging though as I am still under 30, probably not gona work for me lol
Complete Defence Sensitive Moisturiser Lotion SPF 30+
For anyone with Amazon Prime, same price delivered, 5% cashrewards.
Haven't checked the rest of the products.
Yeah Amazon tends to match supermarket sale prices
Just remember Olay products are not cruelty free unlike other skincare/cosmetic brands such as The Oridnary and Sukin!
I have a question — why are there so many individual posts from the weekly coles/woolworths catalogs? I remember the days when every week we'd have one post which covered every special in both Woolworths and Coles.
Thanks anyway though. A good deal for some.
