good value Laundary Powder or Laundary Liquid.....

Hello,

I think its a time to change the Aldi Laundary Liquid :)
I am using ALMAT ® Laundry Liquid Concentrate - Tropical Breeze, Ocean Mist or Sunshine Fresh 2L for $5.49

I would like to know if anyone has seen any bargains in this regard. Any better value for the money ?

Thanks

I think Choice regularly does tests of laundry products. Your local library might have a subscription if it's not publicly viewable on their website.

getting some detergent on special is your best bet. you can get 1kg drive/omo/radiant boxes for half price quite often. the big 1.4L omo liquid bottles are half price every so often at coles ($7.50?).

i also remember choice mentioning that if you are only washing lightly soiled clothes then the cheaper powders will do an adequate job.

  • omo or radiant at half price is best price performance
buy in bulk when half price at coles/woolies

  • If you can buy in 10/15kg size, Big W or K-mart have them which worked out to around $2.50/kg. Don't know about the quality though, but it's not a no-name brand from what I can remember.

  • Reject Shop often has Radiant powder in huge boxes - 5kg or 10kg.

Be careful with parallel imports though when doing price comparisons. Sometimes they are normal strength instead of concentrated like the local ones, which means you have to use two scoops where you would use one of the local, and so the value is actually half.

  • I agree with stocking up when the good stuff's on half-price sale.

I've not had great experiences with the parallel imports either, they tend to be on par with the cheapest of the generic brands IMHO. I only use them as a last resort between stocks of the good stuff.

That said, the cheap Aldi "Napi-San" clone "Di-San" is really good, and much cheaper than the real thing! It can be a great detergent 'booster' to supplement the cheap powders & liquids for the odd tough wash at the times when you're just using cheapies for lightly soiled washes too! ;)

  • I stock up on Bio-Zet when it's half price, just keep an eye on the supermarket catalogues.

  • DUO washing powder in 5kg boxes from big W

good price, last for ages :)
