I don't know anything about these bags, but that looks like a knockoff.

    • You forgot 10% GST.

    • Personally don't think the negs were deserved.

Even if it's a copy is still cheaper… And it's a backpack Afterall, not safety gear.

The genuine one is probably made in China too.

Besides, at least with AliExpress you can get Dainese and Alpinestars branded backpacks.

      • It’s safety gear if you consider how unsafe it is to ride with a bag strapped to your back.

Yeah that's why I don't ride with a backpack strapped to my back…

Wouldn't matter if it's a Chinese knockoff or the real deal, having a backpack full of stuff in it strapped to your back isn't going to be ideal in a crash

@edrift: It was actually the opposite for me. I slid across the road in the rain on my bike last year, and the backpack acted like an airbag and literally saved my life (I was sliding on my back and it also kept my head elevated off the road surface). The only injury I had to show for it was road rash on my left elbow. Admittedly, I was also very lucky that I didn't get run over by oncoming traffic. Freaking miracle!

            • @brotherfranciz: Glad to hear you're ok!

The part that worries me about wearing a backpack is the items inside and the weight.
If you had anything sharp or with pointy corners I'd hate that to be digging into my bank if I landed on it. Or if it were quite heavy that might add to the momentum of the slide.

On the flip side of it was full of soft clothes I'd imagine it's like a cushion.

Personally I wear an airbag vest so that wouldn't work well with a backpack. They're only ~$100 on eBay (excluding CO2 cartridge) so I figured it's a cheap bit of gear.

I have a top box and tank bag to carry stuff.

@brotherfranciz: Just because you had a good result wearing a pack following an accident does not negate the fact that you are increasing your risk of back injury by strapping something to your back.

I'd never buy an Ogio rep from aliexpress.

I'm on to my second mach 5, daily use, 6+ years.

    • Does it fit a laptop?

      • Yes, but I use the biggest of the 3. Mach 1, mach 3 and mach 5. I use the 5. Fits everything I need, change of clothes, shoes, laptop, lunch box etc. Then the expandable zipper aswell makes it hold more if required.

I love it, that's why I got another exactly the same. Cant remember why I needed a new one now I think about it. Dont recall anything failing. Just got a bit ratty on the hard back

        • Any idea if a smaller one would fit a 15"? Edit: looks like the Mach 3 fits most 15 inch and is also on sale, will have to check it out.

  • Great deal. Gonna get one tomorrow.

    I have a 3 , Love it
15in macbook pro not a problem, gaming laptop is a bit snug

  • Thinking of buying this or the Mach 3 for the daily commute to uni.
Does anyone have this or the 3 and can comment on its usefulness for carrying laptop + books?
    Thanks.

    • Get a magnetic tank bag instead of you're carrying books and a laptop.
It'll save your back and potentially be safer in a crash

      • I don't see how you could fit a laptop and book in a tank bag

      • I'd still need a bag to take my books around uni

  • Who tagged it as expired? I can still see it on stie?
