    Thanks for the heads-up, BA.

  • Got it for an account I have never sold on before.

It looks like a new thing with 'buy it now' listings is that the duration can only be set to 'good til cancelled', so remember to cancel or they will automatically renew outside of the promo.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, or if there's a way around this.

    • You are right, I noticed that too.
Kinda annoying as the listings will show up way below auction style as they normally come up from ending soon to last. Not sure why they decided to go that way!?

    • A bit misleading too. I assumed 'good til cancelled' meant there was no duration period and the promo would be active until I cancelled the listing. Then I looked it up and found that it just means auto renewing every 30 days. :/

I sell all the time so not eligible for this but got 75% off final value fees for 10 items. Wouldn't have known (email is my wife's who never uses it) but for this post. Thanks OP!

Got this too, but the $1 weekends are better value.

  • Every weekend I get list unlimited items on weekends to pay $1 in seller fees.

    • Are you able to double check if you go to relist something that didn't sell (I've had to do this under sell similar to get it to register as a $1 commission listing) that it defaults to a Good 'Til Cancelled listing? I've just noticed this is the case now for me. This was never the case before as I could do it under sell similar for a 30 day period and repeat.
      Ebay are assholes!

Tried it and new buy it now listings all appear to be Good 'Til Cancelled now (for me anyway). This is really dodgy from feeBay since it will auto-renew after 30 days if not cancelled.

It's getting harder and harder for casual sellers.

        • Would this mean that you will get charged the normal listing fee (and the full selling fees on its sale) every time you let the listing auto renew? Or would it still be somehow connected to the promo back with the original listing even if that was months ago?

@forrester: Will need to pay for the fees if you let it auto renew (so full final value fee, not sure whether it will deduct listing fee from the free ones we get every month). Because it is 30 days, it will not land on a weekend for the first auto renew (if you initially list the item on a weekend).

            • @netsurfer: Thanks netsurfer for your reply! Ebay is indeed making life hard for the smaller sellers…
