DigitalOcean VPS 60-Day Trial with $100 US Credit (Credit Card Required)

40

I saw this link on Facebook.

You need to register as a new user.
Credit card is required to claim this offer.

This deal reminded me of starting out with DigitalOcean.
I experimented quite a lot with that $100 US credit; never got to spend it all in 60 days.
Now I'm settled in with $10 US monthly.
I'm pretty happy with their equipment and community overall.

I love Digital Ocean's services, pricing and ease.

But pray you won't ever need their support. Their support techs are worse than useless. Took a week of back and forth and them blaming me for something they eventually acknowledged was an error in their end.

I've only had the one need to contact them in more than 3 years, which is good. But their staff are rude, abrasive, slow and unhelpful if you need them.

Vultr support is great and their servers better value, in my experience.

      • i second vultr, especially if you can get ahold of their $2.50 vps. l0l-

        • …which is pretty useless without paying extra for an IPv4 address.

          • @bio: I have the 'old' $2.50 vps ($3.50 now) that came with IPv4. didn't notice their 'new' pricing changes.

            • @r0xz: Those were the days…

Jokes aside, OVH has a 2GB server for around the same price and SkySilk has $2 servers.

  • This is an ongoing offer. Using a referral link gives you 100USD credit. Unlike this offer, the referral link gives the referee 25USD in their account.

  • What are Vps useful for ? (could be an obvious answer but i've never heard of them before)

    • For hosting websites

      • And downloading linux ISOs

        • You don’t need a vps to download Linux isos… am I missing something??
