Taiwan does NOT block traffic (at least not to the extent China does). You can already freely access pretty much all websites gmail, torrent etc even without this service. Any local sim will do.

Suggest you rewrite the description so you don't misinform.

    • hippo2s, you are correct. Taiwan does not block traffic. There are 2 products here. One is Taiwan and the other one is China VPN-Free. Hope this clarifies.

      • The description has been updated. Hopefully this is clearer. Thanks for pointing it out.

        • Reads better, thanks!

  • Hi Op I have an obscure question but feel you if anyone could answer, I have a device that requires a Chinese or Taiwanese mobile number sms to activate. Do you know any way I can get a Taiwanese mobile number to receive an sms in Australia?

    • Find a Taiwanese friend with a TW sim. Normally you need a form of ID to get a sim (both post and prepaid) so unlikely to get one in Aus.

For those just wanting a sim for their handset, this is very easy and inexpensive in my experience (and allows tethering).

    • So which one you will recommend for a trip in Taiwan for a week?
Can we get the sim card at the airport?

      • You can get sim card there, there's kiosks at the airport, but Make sure u are landing during normal biz hours to be safe.

What is Taiwan ? Is that a country ?

    • -4

Yes, Republic of China is the legitimate government for all of China and Taiwan

    • I hope you're just trolling…

  • It is much cheaper at klook - see https://www.klook.com/en-AU/activity/16960-4g-wifi-taiwan/, only $2.29/day. Unless the op's version has something that I miss?

  • cheaper to simply get a prepaid sim. They also allow tether. if you have an unlocked pocket wifi modem. you can use it. A 10 days prepaid Sim with unlimited data costs less than 25 dollars.

It used to be more difficult for tourists to get a prepaid sim card. so companies start to offer pocket wifi for rental to tourists.

Now it's very easy to get a prepaid sim from the airport.
can't really see any reason to get a rental pocket wifi anymore.
