Advice | Looking for Side Hustle | 20 Hours a Week to Spare

Hi there,

I have been thinking of this for a while and could not post it. But here it is now.

Got 20 hours a week to spare.

  • I am an Applications developer. Done some freelancing, but it tends to be more like a day job. Work and get paid.

You don't build a future / passive income. You could implement an idea/ or start a company but let's park this for another day.

  • Looking for something to keep me busy, interested and earn a side income. I am fully aware that it takes time and effort to reach there. There is no magic or quick win here.

  • Interested in Amazon FBA for Australia ( but can be for US).
    • Probably not interested in going for some paid training. I think, it's the journey and everyday learning that is important.
    • Everything (ok, lets say most of it) in the training is readily available on the internet. Open to suggestions.
  • Open to work for someone who needs an extra hand (on the Job training, for free,or paid?), can have some sort of non compete/NDA agreement.
  • Open to options other than Amazon FBA.

Looking for Advice, help or inputs.

  • what are some of the options that are possible.
  • what all are you guys/gals doing
  • Any Mentors willing to take a trainee/?

Thanks

What's to stop you simply applying for other jobs that need somebody 20 hours a week since you're already working as a freelancer?

  • I am trying to explore options for a side work. Which you can do in your spare time. No need for 9 to 5 timings.

And to answer your question, It's a bit complicated. For ease, I am working full time and have spare time. And/or want to work weekends.

  • Casino dealer?

I think you will need 4 weeks training prior

  • cam girl?

    Drug dealer

    • Corporate or private enterprise?

      • I'd say private, that way he can choose his own work hours.

        • And the risk/reward ratio is higher too. :)

  • So you're looking to do a few hours here and there when you can - up to about 20 hours a week for extra income.
    - Uber driver
    - Airtasker
    - Furniture removal (if you're young and fit)
    - House cleaner (office cleaner by night)

Thanks. Uber Driver is a good option.

      • +4

No its not, the money is terrible.

        • It's good for those of us who use Uber as passengers ;)

        • What do you expect to earn as an Uber driver? Money is decent if your expectations are right. Plus the freedom that if gives as compared to other casual jobs.

Stripper, adult toy tester, prostitute and pornstar.

  • on the Job training, for free,or paid?), can have some sort of non compete/NDA agreement

I believe your wanting somebody to disclose a 'hustle' of sorts that they have likely put significant time and effort into developing and perfecting. But even some non-disclosure form, isn't really
going to stop you from telling someone else who tells someone else
, next thing there is too much competition and everyone loses (earns less) and it becomes unviable for the person or persons whom put in all the initial work.

There are plenty of ideas out there to make some extra $$ . Almost all of them that are half-decent, will require significant investment (either of time, money, resources, or all 3).

If you can do things differently to the next person or company, there is potential to gain an upper hand, do a bit better than everyone else who is just plodding along, doing what they have been told/taught.

Most people can't do this I guess. I can't 'not innovate' , I get bored and have a certain hunger, desire, to improve, regardless of what everyone else might say as to 'this is how it's done' .

Just a hint, which I think many people know this anyway. Most highly successful people, self-made , have failed many times , so be prepared to fail, be happy to fail (but see it as a part of a learning curve) then pick self up and keeping trying and trying.

Another one of those “if you have to ask, don’t bother” type of questions.

Just get a second job and be done with it.

  • Have you end up with something you like?

  • Pick up free stuff from roadside whitegoods rubbish or Quokka/Gumtree free column, and resell it in the same.
Either fix washers/furniture/ electrical/computers. Or strip things to sell for parts, such as desktop memory/drives/cards/Peripherals.

  • I can type nice messages to you daily for $1/day

I am an expert at internet flirting :)

Hi handsome internet stranger how you doing on this fine cyber virtual day..

Please forgive me for my grievances.. good cyber virtual day.. carry on person from other side of world

  • Perhaps your new side hustle could be threatening people's mums or employers? I'm not sure what that pays though.
