Best Laptop under $1200

Hi all

Not familiar with computer at all so need you advice of what I can get if my max spend is $1200 preferable if I can get one from ebay with the tech 20% off, that would be great. My long time ASUS Lambo VX7 starts dying on me so need a replacement.

I don't play any games on the laptop but sometimes watch movies and other normal MS office and web browsing.

    If you do much more watching movies and web browsing than MS Office stuff, then maybe consider a tablet.
    If I had $1,200 to spend, I'd buy a Surface Pro 6 i5 128gb.
