I signed up to the Super Spring Saver deal in October 2017 at $30/month for 15GB Data, Unlimited calls and Text. No where did I read then (and they make it hard to find or access any CIS and Contract information for that particular plan now) that the price would increase after 12 months - and only now in Feb 2019 have started being charged $40/month. The contract stated (similarly to the current CIS at the link under the current $35 deal on now at https://www.optus.com.au/shop/mobile/phones/sim-only) "These plans have a minimum term of 12 months."
Tried chatting online to Optus, getting nowhere as they just say along the lines of 'It states clearly the deal price is for a 12 month contract… or they try to spruik the current $35 deal.
Has anyone else experienced this? Is it a fact that the price advertised for these deals only apply for the 12 Month contract term? I thought it would be like every other plan I've had with multiple carriers that once the contract term ends you'd be free to leave without paying a fee, not that the deal you signed up for would finish and you'd start paying a standard monthly price? If this is the case can anyone find documentation/contracts/Critical Information Summaries that supports this? Willing to stand corrected.
Thanks!
From memory, the deal was 25% off the plan fee for 12 months? If so, not really surprising that it reverted to the 'normal' price after that.
