Wow they lowered the max discount from $1000 to $300, that's actually really disappointing. Rules out a lot of good pricing on higher end TV's.

    • Anything over $1500 really. For me it’s basically worthless.

  • Any good deals on Huawei mate 20 pro? I saw Allphone retail price way above jbhifi and the likes.

  • +1

I am scrapping hard to save a few dollars from this deal. Please help to source 2 items cheaper than below:

    Ryzen 5 2600
    CCPU $235 on special
    Futu $231.20(20% off $289)
    Shopping Express $228(20% off $285)

    Acer KG251QF
    Kogan $279
    Shopping Express $271.20($339)

    • +4

Not so much a price saving consideration, but I would personally pay extra if it meant avoiding Futu online and their terrible after-sales support. Plenty of threads on here/Whirlpool discussing their borderline illegal practices

      • +1

Thanks for the information. Never dealt with them before and it looks like I never will be.

  • Hmmm need to buy G7X Mark II

  • +9

    These deals are pointless, pricejack

Looking for a RTX 2080, better to walk into MSY for them to tell me they have none in stock…

    • LOL so true. I double checked they have all 3 things in stock only to be told one of them was not. Had to select another computer case on the spot.

      • +2

I just buy from PCcasegear, pay a premium (post to NSW) but saves the frustration of a build when critical part inst in stock. Like the example with your case.

    • This RTX 2070 seems okay, but I could've sworn it was cheaper this morning…

      • +2

LOL of course it was, Jack was here

  • +4

PUMPGRADE would be a more fitting code with all the rampant price jacking going on.

  • Noticed some items I was watching have been jacked, no deal from me.

Shame it’s not Dirty Deals, Done Dirt Cheap

  • Looking to buy an Android phone to replace my aging iPhone 6. Any recommendations along the lines of Nokia 6.1/7.1, Xiaomi from the ozbargainers?

    • I do not own a Xiaomi Pocophone F1 (I have been using a Redmi 4X and a Redmi Note 5) but it is supposed to be a good value for money phone.

      • Thanks, I did read about the Pocophone. But I have been using apple pay on my iphone and would love to have NFC on the Android. What about the Mi A2 ?

    • There was a couple of cheap S9+ deals yesterday. Potentially possible to price-match with Officeworks for around ~$650 according to one person.

      • Officeworks do not match eBay and moreover they refused to price beat an item which was on 20% off because they do not accommodate coupon offers!!! seems recent change in their policy??

What is excluded from the Price Beat Guarantee?
Cashback and coupon offers (i.e. supplier cashback or reduced price available via paper coupon or electronic codeword)

        • +1

I didn't say from eBay. Better to chat to the person who posted it yesterday, they claimed they had done it multiple times with friends at their local.

It's in the comments of one of the S9+ deals from yesterday. They price-matched from Becextech.

    • I picked up a Moto G6 Plus a few months ago and have been very happy with it.

Ticks all the OzBargain boxes (only thing missing is a notification LED, though have gotten used to waving my hand over the top of it to see the notifications.)

Don't know if that helps today though, looks like the only seller is allphones. Cheaper options with the PSAVEIT code.

(For ref, got mine during this deal, ended up costing me around $290 after $20 Amazon.com "not selling to AU anymore" discount and cash back) which I consider an absolute bargain, but even if you picked up one around the $350 mark reckon is still a great price for this phone.

I haven't seen the Nokia's in person so can't really compare but looking at specs looks closer to the 7.1 (though 4/64GB over the Nokia 3/32GB and no notch).

Might see some better deals on the G6's now that the G7's have been announced.

      • Big big thank you for this recommendation. I have not been looking at this phone at all and looks like its very much a Nokia 6.1 and quite close to a Nokia 7.1.
I found it cheap on a few sites:
        - eglobalcentralau
        - tobydeals

You're right , this one still works out cheaper than AllPhones but by just a few dollars.

I wonder if OfficeWorks will price match it.

  • +1

    Lowered max discount is 👎👎👎.

  • +1

Can't wait for all the SD card deals because God knows everything else will be jacked up as high as possible.

    • not only the price is jacked up, it's also stacked up with 9.99 postage fee (example)
I just bought from another seller without code and ended up $8 cheaper.

  • Any deal for LG CordZero A9? ;)

  • Prices seem jacked up?

Checked My Phonez but seems even after discount prices are above RRP.

    Why is this allowed?

    • cause its a scam, prices should be frozen 10 days out for those wishing to participate in discount sales …it's just a rort otherwise.

      • +1

Then they'll jack 11 days out

        We can't win here

        • JB said they raise prices to RRP a week out from a sale. They missed an item that I wanted until the day before so I complained and got the % off off the normally marked down price rather than RRP.

  • Sydneytec image for product I wanted says "10% off at checkout + additional X with code". Is that ended? Can't see the 10% at checkout…

  • Any good deals on a Lenovo laptop? Need one for school.

  • +1

ftc_computers were selling the Kingston HyperX Cloud Stinger for $75 pre-sale, now $114 (less 20%). That's a 52% increase before the 20% discount. That was the first item I looked at for this "deal" (and the last).

  • Why don't we have a thread of "AMA - I am a eBay seller who jacks up prices"

    • Isn't there a law though that this cannot be done?

  • +5

Everything I’ve looked at has been price jacked and over RRP. eBay has become quite the joke

    • +2

Yet it receives loads of upvotes due to perceived value

  • Anything extra for ebay Plus members?

    • +11

      Extra salt

    • +6

LOL you must be new here

      • +4

        Sorry please don't neg me.

    • +4

You get to pay extra for the privilege of using eBay

  • +3

Tech Mall still has an extra 10% off + 20% off with this sale, get in quick as it'll probably expire quickly.

E.G Evo Plus 256gb for $60 delivered with the code.

    • Is it just me or are a lot of their prices with towards 30% off still not that great? What's the lowest people have seen those Evo Plus SD cards usually though?

      • Yeah a lot of their pricing is high, however there's a few gems in there.

The 256gb card is the cheapest I've seen it, they also have the Xiaomi Toilet Seat for $198 which is the cheapest I've seen too.

Xiaomi Power Bank 20,000 for $26.64 is cheap too.

        • +1

RTX 2070 for $640 seems pretty good too I think? Assuming you calculate by removing 10% then removing 20% from the already reduced price.

    • Came to say this, $363 for a 10TB Seagate Ironwolf, oooh boy.

      • Where did you find this? Edit - sorry just realised this was before they pulled the extra 10%.

        • Yeah sorry, was actually really good price for a while there. Pity I didnt have the funds for one UNTIL JUST NOW :(

    • Thanks doweyy :)

    • +1

Extra 10% has been removed. T_T

    • How does the 10% off + 20% off work?

They ran out of Ryzen 5 2600 but 2600X is listed as $379. That makes it $272.88 or $265.30 depending on the calculation. That is a lot lower than what I could find out there at around $310. I don't mind paying the extra $35 - $40 for 2600x.

    • Sorry, I add the item to the cart, but how do you get the extra 10% off?

      • Unfortunately it's expired now, they pulled the extra 10% offer.

  • +1

Is this the first time eBay limit the max discount on a 20% selected seller promotions?

    This ‘promotions’ are going downhill

  • +1

    Thanks OP! I got a Kingston 240GB SSD for $42.36! :)

  • Putting here since less than 10 items - SydneyTec has the Mate 20 Pro (with bonus watch) for the previous low price ($1249.50) after discount, if you missed the last deal.

  • No minimum spending? please confirm?

    • Try adding an item to the cart and applying the code… you'll get your answer… and spoiler, it'll work :)

  • Is there a website that can show you the price history of an item based on the Ebay listing number? That would be really helpful…..

  • Nearly bought a Mavic 2 Pro from shopping express, then realized the $300 max. Might still be a good deal for some…

  • +2

This post with the techfast prebuilt Ryzen 3, RX 570, 8gb ram + monitor + kb is now just $480 - really considering jumping on! direct link

  • All phones price jacked by a decent margin the minute the sale started

    • Was looking at a tablet and they jacked it like 300 bucks lol

  • -3

Why is the max discount now only $300 when it was always $1000?

    • +3

Why all the downvotes? Sure a discount is a discount but it is hard not to be disappointed that ebay has reduced all it's discount offers this year. Combined with the usual price jacking, high price items are no longer worth buying through theses deals

  • +1

anyone had any luck with cheap kindles?

What a rip off for RTX2080

Pricejack to higher than street price with discount, MSY has these under $980

    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Galax-nVidia-GeForce-RTX-2080-OC…

    rest of the jokes
    https://www.ebay.com.au/e/au_eventgroupname01/20-off-tech-pc…

    • Dont ebay has a price match guarantee for fixed price items?

If after the sales code the price is still higher? it will still qualify I would have thought?

      Has anyone ever tried this?

      • No and no,

This is typical, $1200 card, jacked to $1550 "RRP" then discount makes it $50 more than average price. What a joke

@xrailgun: Thanks for this. Might do just that.

These ebay "sales" are worse than those shops constantly having "closing down sales".

            • @Bid Sniper:

These ebay "sales" are worse than those shops constantly having "closing down sales".

Like those Persian closing down rug stores that have been closing down for 10 years?

There's definitely culprits as well as good bargains to be had.. depends on the store.

Dell, Peter's of Kensington, The Good Guys are some stores that don't partake in price jacking.

Futu_online a.k.a. shoppingexpress are almost always market leaders by 5% (incl shipping) during these sales, when compared to staticice prices. Definitely not 20%, but if you are a true OzBargain professional, you can definitely make your money count.

  • -1

    Thanks, I grabbed a T9E for $71

  • +9

Given the amount of people favouring the increased prices, I feel that this isn't actual a deal, so a neg from me!

    • -1

Hopefully mods don't remove your neg, as you have hurt there feelings by negging

      • +2

Yeh the existing ozbargain system of down voting deals is almost as big of a joke as the eBay price jacks.

It's amusing seeing the amount of people here who get salty and defensive regarding the price jack comments this time last year, but are so quiet now when there are 5x as many comments regarding price jacking on eBay.

        • +2

Exactly, I'm guessing someone is receiving incentives. I don't neg eBay posts anymore as it always gets removed lately

  • I'm looking for a budget gaming laptop, around $1300-$1600, any good deals?

    • +1

Not from this deal, but the other eBay discount code "PSAVEIT" deal.

The following Dell G3 3579 (a entry-mid level gaming laptop) configs may be of considerations, after the eBay discount code "PSAVEIT":

      https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/323648518402
      Core i5-8300H (4-Core), 15.6" IPS FHD, 8GBx1 DDR4 2666MHz RAM, 128GB SSD+1TB HDD, GTX 1050 Ti (4GB GDDR5)
$1284 (this config has been cheaper before at $1087.20)

      https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/323648528336
      Core i7-8750H (6-Core), 15.6" IPS FHD, 8GBx1 DDR4 2666MHz RAM, 256GB NVMe SSD, GTX 1050 Ti (4GB GDDR5)
$1354 (cheapest on OzBargain for this config?)

      Height: 0.89" (22.7mm) x Width: 14.96" (380mm) x Depth: 10.16" (258mm)
      Weight: 5.57lbs (2.53Kg)

      • Thank you, what are your thoughts on this for $1300

        https://www.aftershockpc.com.au/welcome/Productinner/apex15-…

Similar specs to the i7 Dell

        • +1

In short: the price looks good for the spec.

Looks like it uses the GK5CM6X (?) chasis base of the ODM TsingHua TongFang's designs, https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/919450-tongfang-custom-…

Can't find any reviews for the Apex 15 Lite (GK5CM6X ?) machines, but the other chasis of the range (eg Apex 15) seems to be quite okay/well received. It is plastic construction but still solid (especially for this price).

My main concerns would be warranty support, and to have realistic expectation for heat dissipation for its cooling capabilities (to expect heating up and throttling after heavy and/or extended workload in a portable form factor chasis).

From quick searches, Aftershock PC is a start-up from Singapore, which have recently expanded operations to Australia, they've a showroom in Melbourne (https://www.aftershockpc.com.au/welcome/ContactUs). If you are in Melbourne, I'm guessing support may probably be okay/good considering you can go in-store, VS having to wade through Dell's phone support. For the very least, you'll be covered by ACL.

In terms of its cooling, considering they've got a shop, just give them a call and ask what the cooling apparatus is for the Apex 15 Lite (e.g. 1 fan? 2 fans? how many heat pipes? etc). Also help to see if they actually know the products they are selling.

          Good luck!

        • Also have to add in Operating system. Couldn't see any mention of battery capacity.
Very little in the way of online support, eg manuals, drivers, bios updates, how to's etc like Dell for example, but maybe eventually.

  • Anyone in the market for the Xiaomi S50? tech.mall is not the cheapest at 599, but they are offering 10% off and still accepting the PUPGRADE promo code. This equates to 28% off and brings it down to $431.28. Cheapest I have ever seen it… Just got one the other day (always the way). I acknowledge this may be a pricing error on their side and they may change it at any time

  • Unifi US-24-250w $503.28 delivered, cheapest on Staticeice is $624.80.
    Tech Mall

That's the lowest price I've ever seen.

    • EDIT: I had this in my cart before 10am and there was a 10% discount, after 10am I added the coupon and it took a further 20% off.
I've tried to replicate this and it doesn't work again.
      Price now is $559

      • Good luck with that.

I was looking at the 150w 8 port version. Elsewhere: $277.20. Techmall: $292. Without that extra 10% off it's not a deal.

PS: Any idea how loud the US-24-250w is? I was going the 8 port purely because it's fanless. I'm not sure if there are really enough ports on it for me. I think I'd need 16 port version to be safe (16 port version is also not fanless).

        • They've confirmed the order and left feedback, so it should be ok.

From WP - "Note that the US-24-250W has its own fans, and they will spin up as temperature increases. Sound level ranges from 38 to 47 dBa. The US-24-500W ranges from 40 to 53 dBa."

I've heard that it's audible (ha) but I'm not too fussed as it's going into an unused room.
The POE ability is an overkill, I'm only powering a couple of WAP's but it was more appealing than multiple switches or POE injectors. Plus it's rack mount.

  • So I am in market for Xiaomi vacuum Gen2. Yesterday Gearbite had 10% off which made it ~$440! Now I search using link and two seller popup and use this 20% code and comes to $480! So price jack is REAL for these "SELECTED" sellers.

    • +1

Roborock S50 V2 was $431 after all discounts before Tech Mall took down their 10% discount promotion. It seems like 3 people got their vacuums at that price.

  • Is there a way to search these outlets offering 20%?
I am in the market for a dishwasher but struggling to refine the search.
