Any good companies for this? Have a lot of old fencing I need taken away. Somewhere around 6-8 cubic meters
Cheapest I've found so far is $560 for an 8 m3
Im in the south east.

Son? I was just out getting cigarettes
If you have not done so, check this website - to see if you can find cheaper. I tried a few around my area, and for the required volume (8 m3), your pricing seems very cheap.
Have you tried leaving it on the nature strip with a sign saying free firewood?
List it on Gumtree as a free item. Or a Facebook buy, swap, sell group in your area. Someone will take that wood off of you for free. Could be repurposed into a few things if it isn't absolutely wrecked.
Bunnings do one where they deliver and take it away and the price includes disposal
Hello there.
New fence all built? If not, consider one of scotty's additional side hustles, previously discussed.
Asked nicely, in between taking meetings surrounding the nuance in design of OzBargain Crocs, scotty will engineer you a force-field fence with ~privacy shimmer~, for just the price of an old chromebook, and small mark-up on a handful of items from Masters.
(Bunnings is Masters, Masters-Bunnings merged, in parallel universe: "Where Klingon shop assistants are just the beginning", both promise and threat.)
Only downsides of force-field I can find for you on earthly internet, outlandio:
Some minor electricity usage;
Need to turn down quite low in order to properly mow the lawn;
Adventurous cats trying to jump on to from roof, occasionally bounced to an adjoining suburb.
Other than that, all good!
Oh, and…
Molto surprisio, interwoven vine io, outlandiopizzatoru. Why no one suggestiu.. complimentary trailer from Bunnings idea, as per that fun "How do i move a TV" thread, for the old fence?
May need to cut sections of removed fence smaller and may take a few trips to the tip… Still better than sawn and jenga-stacked palings out via the wheelie bin over span of a couple of years. Possibly the ultimate OzBargain solution - were no one to otherwise take, gratis, from the nature strip! :)
XD
Ohhh.. that one got me good. If only Scotty did deal in chromebook exchanged for force fences.
"minor electricity usage"
hahaha!
complimentary trailer from Bunnings idea
Great idea … if willing to trade some work for over $500.
Hop to it!(instagram.com)
A sugar glider? It is adorable :-) The other day I saw a doco where the sugar gliders seem to have wing flaps when they glide from tall trees. Fascinating!
Bluesky, possible that you might run into one down at Bunnings, I suppose…
More chance of seeing actual sugargliders around Melbourne, although far fewer indoors in Australia as compared to America and Japan. Popular 'pocket pets' as they're known, and maybe exactly how they got to those places, in the first place…
Mixed feelings about that, but down the climate track a bit, plenty of species of you-name-it will only be surviving in captivity.
This sugarglider certainly seems pretty happy! :-)
I trust outlander's fence removal more than I trust certain other Melburnians and their 'ms paintwork'. Any more may ultimately have resulted in people accidentally having a poo in the pantry… 💩 😨😷
:)
Mixed feelings about that, * to say the very least,
@[Deactivated]: Me too, mixed feelings… saw on news, koalas dying of thirst as they could not get enough water from the leaves due to heat and drought. Farmer put out water trough, with motion-triggered camera - and found many species, including bees, frogs, koalas etc, all came to drink from it. If climate gets hotter, the animal diversity could vanish in their natural habitat, and need for protected areas/parks/human intervention to keep them alive.
G'day bluesky,
Appears a serial downvoter on comments above, but I'll just post this here, anyway.
Outlander won't mind. He appears to be in the middle of pondering Past/Future.
Also maybe in middle of retrieving the cats of irate neighbours…
A very recent mention by someone on the ABC that David Tennant started a podcast I know from a couple of your comments on here, bluesky, that you are a mad-keen Dr. Who fan. Just how many will he end-up interviewing? Enjoy as you discover that!
Of course…
Also never forget, to also listen to, some music!
:-)
David Tennant started a podcast …
Thanks, Dne, for mentioning, I am listening to it now :-) Since Doctor Who, I actually watched his other stuff and he is just as good in them (if not better), e.g. Broadchurch.
He appears to be in the middle of pondering Past/Future.
Interesting question, Outlander, my 2c.
Also never forget, to also listen to, some music!
Fun to watch, but wonder - will owner's sleep be disturbed? Can you train it to sing, only on command or at certain times? :-)
@bluesky: Sirens, and dogs howling in primal way have been known to cause some sleep disturbance in susceptible individuals (other hearing dogs, humans), yes. :) Dog part, solid percent of the time, sweet more than annoying.
I figured that you would enjoy being aware of that podcast. I will listen to a few over time myself. Almighty backlog of other podcasts of at least some interest, featuring uncounted number of episodes which will never be listened to.
Thinking of training a dog to listen to them for me :)
@[Deactivated]: Just briefly, bluesky (this took some finding)…
I believe that this constitutes proof of concept :)
That particular dog (the one on the right) certainly seems to be relaying some salient points as heard.
+I will add to your 2c, another 2c of mine. That makes 6c, less 1, rounding to 5. That makes sense?
I believe that this constitutes proof of concept
Oh yes, the doggy wants to have its say too! :-) BTW arithmetic makes cents!
@bluesky: Clearly shirking important podcast-listening responsibilities. Very unfortunate.
(Account from worth a scroll bluesky)
Outlander won't mind…
Yes, because he's thinking of getting into illegal organ harvesting :(
@[Deactivated]: Only the hearts of the wicked, Dne. Not that there's much to harvest, individually, but with the amount of corruption that seems to be going on its a certified future proof career.
@outlander: A reasonable rationale.
OzBargain a bathful of something, tonight.
The question is just exactly how much of it to avoid? The eternal online question, outlander.
@[Deactivated]: All of it.
I think your policy of taking long breaks from this site is the right move. If you're not careful it can easily suck you in. It's as bad as facebook and reddit
@outlander: A few bibs and bobs, regardless, soonish. Not sure if will be of any benefit.
Don't stay up, as can listen to musical link(s), tomorrow!
@outlander: https://youtu.be/j8lcsTy6H9g
6:48 - 7:26 A-B Repeat
@[Deactivated]: Digging into the classical stuff. Thats a far cry from the last one, Nero (which incidentally I'm a fan of too)
Here's what I was listening too when I went for a run an hour ago https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZcoqR9Bwx1Y
@outlander: Arvo beyond classical, and a one-off.
Of all vast number of Estonian composers springing to mind, a favourite.

Thanks for that. I would likely not have stumbled across either of those, otherwise.
Hold the OzBargain Fort, outlander, bluesky (sweet prairie girl from way back) and you, can now grill stuff for weary travellers - after they have crossed the very harrowing Melbourne Plains!
On a journey to JJB's place, to have a poo in the pantry!
:)
@[Deactivated]: Checked out all the music links from you both. Always like to be exposed to new stuff, even if not all genres are staples. Keep posting …

Especially like the jazzy starting part of above.
The classical one is a bit slow, a more upbeat crossover (2:34-3:34) (Spanish version) may be more suitable to keep awake for work! :-)
Have a good day! :-)
@bluesky: Arvo, aside the general meditation, suggestion, music chosen elegiac and suits moment in time. Beyond classical, I reckon, as mentioned to outlander.
A-B Repeat section for outlander, elegiac, and also uplifting. I find, anyway.
A bit of balance there maybe.
If copies of The Trading Post found lining storage boxes mentioned elsewhere, each featuring a whole page of listings for the Linda Evangelista Treadmill, I will be sure to post again.
Here, because certainly skip-bin related!
Night, bluesky :)
Dad, that you?
Was just talking about this with him but why not rent a box trailer and take out to a mate in a farm?
I burn mine and run over the ashes with a stick and repurposed HDD magnet for nails/screws.
(DW, I looked through your posts. Grandma passed recently = for sure not my pops).
