A lot of overseas models are dual-sim because it's more common/popular in Asian markets and that's why you may see more dual-sim phones in grey imports, but no, there's no actual connection between the two.

Be sure to get the one with both 4G SIM compatible. Some old models have 4G and 2G. Avoid this one.

All grey imports phones have 2 sims.

When I go overseas, my phone becomes technically an "import". I checked and it has 2 sims slots but as soon as I exit international airspace on my return journey, the slot vanishes.
