  • HI everyone,

Just curious though if any of you got Aldi air compressor. I am sort of thinking to buy one so I don't have to go to Petrol stations for pumping. Is this a good idea?

    Thanks

  • Waiting for a bunnings counter offer..

  • I am hoping someone will shed a light on how this compressor works? Or is it worth gettin one.

  • +1

Be fine for inflating things, not so good for anything much else.

  • looks like a 240V input from the image…so not exactly 'portable'

  • Ive just looked at bunnings and they have the same compressor at 1100w @$59.89 https://www.bunnings.com.au/ozito-1100w-inflate-it-compresso…

    • Still hoping the match the Ring price to aldi saturday special… unlikely to happen though cuz they prob dont have that much bargaining power with Ring.

Where as with ozito they sell alot more.

Since usually these specials would be rebated with the supplier, so bunnings doesnt pay a cent.

  • You'd think Aldi would bring out an aircompressor in their lithium ecosystem? 240V just seems dated, still useful but for me a battery version would be awesome.

    • They have the portable one use 2 18v battery came out last year. Only 4l air tank and only enough to pump bike and blow dust off my pc

      • buy an eBay one, I use it to inflate the tires of my 4wd when I go out on beach

        • Which one did you get? I'm too afraid of buying a dud

  • Would this be ok for air burshing? I'd love to learn to do it.

    • No.

    • +1

To elaborate on "no", you need a pressure tank for airbrushing - 20 litres is OK to begin but the bigger the better. Also get a good quality regulator and water-air seperator.

Bigger tanks take longer to fill up but they smooth the pressure variations better. My compressor is 80 liters and have a second tank about 150 liters on a tap when I want to use lots of air. It takes a while to fill but once full, has lots of reserves. You can always buy another secondhand tank and join it to a cheap compressor once your airbrushing skills demand more than what a cheap compressor can deliver.

  • I can't imagine this would be any good for inflatables and how is it portable? Ozito, Ryobi, Dewalt, Black & Decker have combo inflators that do both high volume/low pressure (air beds/pool toys) and low volume/high pressure (tires) and they run off multple sources (12v/lithium battery/240v).

  • Anyone buy one of these last year able to comment on its abilities to pump up 4x4 tires?

edit: actually, I just noticed that it is 240 not 12v so no good for me.

  • Bought one - I usually am happy with Aldi quality. I used it for a few minutes - then it made a funny sound and stopped working. Returning it this week.
