I'm on Explorer card and just noticed this when I'm exploring (pun intended) what to do before the changes

15% more means $8.52 credit for 1000 points, usually $7.41
will be reduced to $5 for 1000 points by mid April

Might be useful if you're like me, not having an option to convert points to business class flights when you have kids following you everywhere

Not sure about end date, so act fast

Please let me know if this is advertised somewhere and I'll update the post

    Cash out your points as soon as possible. Amex are devaluing their points.

    I traded my points for 5 nights stay at a star hotel in melbourne :)

        Pretty much. Some good perks, but I'm likely going to cancel my Platinum Edge card and just stick with the Velocity Escape as it will now earn more Velocity points for me overall (and for no annual fee).

          Isn't AMEX Essential better option where you earn 1 point per $1 spend (whereas you earn 0.75 point power $1 spend with escape).

            @No ONE: I transfer all my points to Velocity - the new transfer rates mean the Amex Essential would earn me 0.5 Velocity points per $1 spent, so in my case it's better to stick with the Velocity Escape.

          Correct, everyday spend is 1000 pts for $7.41, woolies is 1000 pts for $8.52

      Same for me (David Jones amex), but David Jones gift cards are 13,300 points for $100. I hadn't realised the difference between that and points for credit.

    I have used all my points by buying wish gift card on Cashrewards to get extra 5% off, turn out to be $9/1000 points ratio, not as good as 30% off, but still a good option for lazy people like me.
