Ethical Zinc SPF50+ Natural Clear Zinc 100ml Sunscreen $10 (Was $16.99) + Shipping or Free Shipping over $25 @ Ethical Zinc

OZBARGAINFEB

Hey again folks. We got some really great feedback from our last deal post.

We've matched the low price - this time fulfilled out of our own online store for those who don't shop on Amazon.

Not to be compared with cheap chemical sunscreen - you can learn more about zinc based sunscreens on our website here.

Natural clear zinc

Ethical Zinc SPF 50+ natural clear zinc sunscreen provides a physical barrier and all natural protection from the sun's harmful rays, while staying clear on your skin.

Made and tested in Australia, harnessing the latest ZinClear XP™ zinc oxide technology, to offer unparalleled levels of sun protection, lightness and transparency for everyday wear. Suitable for sensitive skin, your face and body.

It's more than just SPF

UV light consists of both UVA and UVB rays, with both contributing to skin damage caused by sun exposure.

Many chemical UV absorbers provide inadequate UVA protection. SPF ratings only measure protection from UVB, leaving out potential damage from UVA.

Our zinc has been specifically designed to enhance the UVA protection performance and offers market-leading protection across the UV spectrum.

Safe from chemicals

Zinc oxide has a long history in skincare products such as calamine lotion and nappy rash creams, for use on even the most sensitive of skin.

Many common chemical sunscreens have been found to cause damage to coral and ocean life plus free radical damage, endocrine, hormone and DNA disruption in humans.

Ethical Zinc is safe from harmful chemicals and is blended with moisturising coconut oil.

Works in the real world

Common chemical based sunscreens might pass tests in the lab, but have been shown to degrade or break down in as little as 30 minutes when exposed to real sunlight, limiting their ability to protect you.

Ethical Zinc's physical zinc oxide barrier keeps working under real world conditions, maintaining very high broad spectrum UVA and UVB protection.

I got burnt today as i didn't have any protection on me.

For someone that only wants to buy 1 to test your product out, spending $25 is a bit of a stretch.
Any coupons for Prime members such as myself?

$16.99 from Amazon shipped with Prime
    vs
$17.98 from your website shipped with coupon.

  • Thanks OP. Looking forward to trying this, as have had some pretty bad greasy zinc sunscreens recently.

  • Title says 50% off but code takes the price down to $10.03 from $16.99??

    • Normal price is $19.99 - this is extra discount for OzBargain

ahh i see thanks for the clarification. Also, I read that zinc can stain clothes pretty badly - does this sunscreen stain clothes at all? i quite like the swimmers i have, dont want them ruined.

        • Would also like to know about clothes being stained as I've had the same experience with other sunscreens.

  • You say that you got really great feedback but the post is about the deal rather than the product itself.

The thing that drives me mad about zinc creams is that you end up looking like a ghost after youve spent 30 mins trying to get it on. Furthermore, it stains my son's pram whenever we put it on him. Any chance this is any better?

    • Hey there. Check our reviews on our website here: https://ethicalzinc.com/products/ethical-zinc-spf50-natural-…

A lot of comments about the transparency and feel of our product.

    • I bought some from the last deal - used it and I can confirm if isn't like other zinc products and you don't look like Casper. Runs on clear like most sunscreens.

Does this have avobenzone in it? My fiance avoids that ingredient in sunscreen as it stains her white clothes yellow.

    • No chemical UV filters. Zinc oxide is the only active ingredient and provides UVA / UVB broad spectrum protection.

  • I was going to ask/suggest if you make samples/testers? It might be something to look into - a small flat packet with enough just to try out once.. If it fit in an envelope you could post out without much cost for people to try. I wouldn't buy a sunscreen without being able to check how it smells and how it feels on my skin.

However I see the ingredients contain French Vanilla, so it isn't fragrance free. If you're marketing this as natural and suitable for sensitive skin, consider a range that is also fragrance free.

REP: As a kid when we used to wear the coloured zinc I remember it lasting forever in the water. When I take my daughter to the pool or beach she constantly wipes her eyes dry and the cheek line under her eyes burns as a result of the sunscreen wearing off unless I can remember to reapply every hour or so. Would I have more success with this zinc used just in that spot?

    • Hey there. You can use our product all over the body and face, so there'd be no reason to only use it in that spot. You will find this is much better than coloured zinc as you do rub it in to the skin fully (and it dries clear). Our water resistance rating is 4 hours, so it is pretty good in the water. If you are towelling off to dry you should always reapply but it is a very different application and product to the old school coloured zinc so I think you will find it more suitable to use (but use it everywhere!).

    So do most other brands…

    • Banana Boat, and the chemical UV filters they use, have some interesting performance in the real world: https://www.9news.com.au/2019/02/08/15/48/news-australia-ban…

This independent article on Photostability is of interest to understand how sunscreen performs outside of a lab setting: http://www.skinacea.com/sunscreen/sunscreen-stability.html

TLDR: Zinc Oxide sunscreens are photostable under sunlight, where many chemical UV filters break down and this can minimise their effectiveness to protect from UV damage.

We have some of our information about our product, patented processes and testing results of our zinc oxide here: https://ethicalzinc.com/pages/learn-about-zinc

Hope this helps. Happy to answer any questions you have?

Does that refer to the product I linked to are you are trying to mislead people ???

        • Yes, it refers to the product you linked to.

          • @vestrosaurus: If you actually read the article you posted, it applies to the aerosol products, not the one I linked too, which in all likelihood is just as good at protecting you than your product. It might even be better and is certainly cheaper…

            • @jv: @jv - not sure about that. The FDA has just put out a note to say that only Zinc Oxide and Titanium Oxide meet their conditions for GRASE (Generally Recognised As Safe and Effective).

All other active ingredients in sunscreen need further data to support their use. Given the product you linked has the following:
              Butyl Methoxydubensoylmethane 5%, 4-Methylbenzylidene Camphor 4%., Octocrylene 2%, Bemotrizinol 1%

It falls outside the GRASE categorisation of the FDA.

I'm guessing the TGA will follow suit soon.

  • What is the PPD rating?

  • Hi OP just wondering on any plans for future deals?
Missed both and am in market for new sunscreen
