  • Great price!

  • Beat me to it. I was thinking of posting it once I reach home.

  • Great price, thanks for posting!

  • Any in WA?

    • yes..I bought it from cannington

      • Hey mate, could you please email me your receipt? Looking at trying to get TGG or retravision to price match.

        Email is [email protected]

        • +3

You shouldn't give out your email id in public forums like these. Enable "allow private messages" option in the OzBargain account setting.

Thoughts on if this is still worth it with $20 shipping?

    • +1

I don’t see why not. I paid 330 last year from TGG. It’s a solid unit.

      • +4

Thanks, I ended up biting the bullet. Also qualified for free shipping with Shipster it seems.

        • How? Can’t find the option to select shipster. :(

          • @superfriends: It automatically came up on the guest checkout page when I was adding my email account (which is the account associated with shipster) - hope that helps.

            • @hobbes7: Argh. I think because the delivery shows $24.95 for me and they only cover below $20.

From the research I’ve done, this model is really good, only problem is the small speakers on this sound bar will need help from the subwoofer in some scenes, the problem with that is sometimes when there is a conversation the sub can be active and then immediately inactive in the same sentence which annoyed some people to no end, Yamaha admitted that was due to limitation of the small speakers, hey people wanted thin and low profile sound bars; that’s the price we are paying.

It’s highly recommended on AVS forum to buy the standalone YAS-108 (which has bigger speakers then the YAS-207 and won’t need as much help from the subwoofer), and then buy a proper subwoofer like the 8” NS-SW050 or the 10” NS-SW100.

      • +1

Kudos to you mate, I almsot bought this one but ended up against as I already have a YAS-108. Consumer satisfaction live and die by comments like yours. Ta

      • Thanks for the suggestion on the 8” NS-SW050 or the 10” NS-SW100, I've read somewhere that you can't control the frequency and at times the sound gets muffled. Any experiences with using these? Sorry not an audio expert so if I get the terminology, please correct me.

      • Very well said.
However I have both the 108 and 207. For the clarity of the sound the 207 is better than 107. I hooked the 108 with a KEF sub but I would recommend for the 207.
I paid $399 last year but no regret for this. It is damn good for the price.

      • Wasn't this an issue in the initial units and then Yamaha fixed in later units? From forums and customer reviews, it seems initial units with this cross-over issue had a label 'DTS Virtual:X Ready' on the box and required a firmware update to get DTS Virtual:X.

Unit I bought from HN was manufactured in Jan 2019 and had 'DTS Virtual:X' labelled on the box.

  • -1

    yes

  • Can it connect via HDMI?

    • Yup. Also has optical.

  • Good price, my mate has this and does well compared to my Bose soundbar setup

    • cant be right. Bose is 2-3x the price of this.

  • Can someone please advise if I can use it for my Samsung TV NU7100 and control this sound bar with TV's remote

    • +1

      yes..connect using HDMI(ARC).

  • can i add speakers to this setup via the soundbar?

    • nope.

  • This may seem like a ridiculous question, but could this work as a computer speaker setup

    • Yes

    • Tempting. Wonder how this compares the the old (legendary) Logitewc Z5500. Trying to downsize, tried a Razer Leviathan, (and have hear great things about Creative's Katana) which came close, but soundbars are probably a few years away from matching a proper 5.1.

  • Is this a big upgrade over the YAS 107?

    • +1

Yes. Big. I do have both.

      • That would have been handy to know 3 days ago when it was alive :P
But thanks though, I'll keep and eye out for the next deal.

  • Dolby Atmos?

    • No

      • +1

Not sure if that would be a dealbreaker.

  • Where does the subwoofer get placed, next too or away from the soundbar?

    • +1

It’s wireless, and doesn’t need to be next to the sound bar.

  • +1

Hi awesome post op, thanks a lot. I just purchased the LG 55 oled b8 from the current deal. Do you think this would be a good investment for that TV or not as the TV has Dolby atmos and this soundbar doesn't have it? Thanks for any info from knowledgeable Oz bargainers.

    • +3

You bought an OLED… sure worth something a bit better than this!

      • Go with the Samsung HW-N950. It’s bloody awesome with Atmos.

        • thats 6 times the price

          • @Kempe: I paid $1272 so only 4 times but definitely worth saving and paying the extra based on my comparisons before I bought mine.

          • @Kempe: Lol yeah I have 2 brothers who work in the electronics industry so I may get some products cheaper, just depends on which types they can get.

        • Ty for suggestion, I am not really a fan of Samsung TVs and audio systems. I will check it out though.

      • Lol yeah probably, my PC currently uses Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 THX Certified Computer Speaker System (Black) which is excellent won't with my setup. I do have one of the Samsung 7 series soundbars from memory but it is horrible. The sound from the Klipsch is excellent. For most of my audio I use Audio Technica AD900x headphones.

The consensus seems to be get a yas-1080 and pair it with a good sub over this has 207. I'm not scared to spend the money providing there is a point and benifit. This will be in a bedroom with not much space as I have heaps of electronis in here. So in your opinions what would you guys suggest for this tv, PS4 pro xbox one x and PC. I'm guessing a proper reciever and some smallish speakers possibly.

Thanks all for help and info. Appreciate it immensely.

  • Just can't bring myself to spend this on a soundbar for the spare room, seems like overkill, that said don't want Kogan garbage either. Is there somewhere between the junk Kogan posted the other day and this?

    • +2

Possibly the Yamaha ats 1080 when on sale again. I think 8t got down to $150 or so.

  • +1

NOO!!! i was gna head to TGG afterwork for a price beat! Sad reactions only :(.

    • TGG model is ATS-2070B… I don't think they will price match though it has same specs

    • +1

I've been going back and forth between this model and the YAS-108 since this deal was posted, since this model has issues with crossover. I've been researching for hours this morning and last night. Finally thought stuff it, and sat down to order this baby. Back up to $395…

  • what' a good alternative to this?

  • Just got an email saying they have cancelled the order. And refered to this t&C.

Domayne Online may, in its sole and absolute discretion, accept or reject any offer made by you for any reason (or no reason), including an error in the advertised price for, or description of, the products on the website, or an error in your Order.

Any idea of how to get a good price.

  • Yes, mine has been canceled too, disappointing that they give no reason and they provide no alternatives.

  • Same here, called them and was told it was pricing error :/

    • Was it via domayne or joycemayne? I haven’t receive the email yet and my order still says ‘processing’

      • Domayne. I had to call to figure out it was pricing error.

        • Just received the soundbar just now and was surprised. Did not received any update on the order or even tracking no. Not sure why they cancelled yours. Probably they couldn’t fulfill the demand?

  • Regarding cancellations — it was a pricing error?

  • The item showed up after all.
I am happy to offload at the cost if someone wants it. It was an impulse buy.
