  • Awesome price !

    Thanks bought one. Local pickup as $10 for postage

    • Where do you live?
      I get $15 shipping and another $5 if I want insurance for metro Sydney.
      Kills the deal.

      • Try price matching at your local Officeworks or JB Hi Fi.

          Yeah I am thinking of trying on the phone they open in the morning. But I am reading these things overheat as well so not sure. Few things ruin a computing experience quite like unreliable storage.

          • @syousef: I've had one for nearly two months now, yes it can get very hot to the touch. But I've not lost any data (as yet), and I have it connected 1-2 hours at a time. This is a fantastic price :)

          • @syousef: must memory devices get hot when writing, it is just how cells work, but stays at room temp when reading …

            they don't overheat though ….else would die and youd claim warranty.

        • Office works Blacktown tranferred me from one person to another but I eventually got an answer - they have no stock but can order it in, and say they will price match, but I have to come in person.

          Castle Hill on the other hand is a nightmare. They're busy so they either
          1) Don't answer their phones at all until the automated message gives up telling you that your call will be taken shortly and tells you that your call could not be taken at this time and to try again later. (Once, after 21 minutes)
          2) Eventually pick up the phone and just let it sit on the counter. I could literally hear them serving others (Twice, after 10-15 minutes).

          Castle Hill Officeworks has always been putrid to deal with.

          • @syousef: Finally got through to Castle Hill. Said they could do it. When I got in they couldn't find the stock. The guy I talked to on the phone let me order them "but only 4, because it says in stock at supplier. It should be in stock at the store to price match.". I'm ok with 4. Pity about having to go in again when they come in, but at least I got somewhere.

      • 2145 postcode

      • That's weird, $10 shipping to Perth metro so can't understand why it's $15 for you.

        There are certain sites ahem catch.com.au ahem that charge more for shipping via Auspost to Perth than Sydney or Melbourne, yet Auspost charges a flat rate no matter where you're shipping to. Maybe they have a different arrangement with them, I don't know.. but I can ship a 2kg box from Perth to Sydney by walking into the post office for the same price you could send me something from Sydney to Perth, or Melbourne, or Darwin, or bumfk nowhere in the desert.

    • Yes the postage for me is a no go. Can pick up on ebay 64GB for $20 with free postage. Have bought from Scorptec before though without any problems.

  • Thanks OP great deal and since I wanted 4 of them the postage was ok per item

    Grab a bargain, cheap plastic and metal lol. Well material gets cheaper every yeear doesn’t it, will be seeing USB drives for less than $1 in the near future hopefully.

  • Any price matched ? OW will add postage to the price

    • I price matched at OW couple days ago just fine for $14.25. lady only checked for stock availability.

  • Is this better performance-wise than the 16GB 3.0 USB Kingston from previous deal?

  • You want to spend extra money for good quality, flash drives fail very often.

    • These have 3yr warranty. Just make sure you have a backup stored somewhere else.

      • "5 years warranty" on the box.

    Thanks you OP, just purchased 50 drive :))

    Don't forgot to add 0,7% cash back

  • Had a 32gb of these only worked a couple of months then won't read anymore in anything couldn't find the receipt so wasted my money.

  • Will try price match with ow on Monday if Deal is still running

    I wanted to buy a bunch of cheap USB 3.0 drives, and settled on the 32GB version of this drive. I found the speeds to be mostly satisfactory - excellent read speeds, and good write speeds.

    32GB Sandisk Ultra Flair USB3.0
    * 36MB/s write
    * 159MB/s read
    Benchmarked with Black Magic Disk Speed

    $2 Woolworths 16G USB3.0 Drive
    * 16.8MB/s write
    * 112MB/s read

    128GB Samsung Bar USB 3.0
    * 15-80MB/s write fluctuating, mostly around 35-55MB/s
    * 85-105MB/s read fluctuating, mostly around 85-95MB/s

    • +1

      I just used ATTO disk benchmark to test 32G version, result shows around 52 MB/s write, 166 MB/s for reading

  • 2286 clicks item still in stock. Hope they will honour our orders 😀

    Description needs to be removed because 64GB isn't $15 anymore. Reported.

  • Jb Hifi Epping did not price match due to below cost.

    • +1

      JB is a prick

      • The another JB hifi store at epping shopping Center has price matched and brought 2.

        2 more left

    • Didn't get a match either at Glen Waverley. Lowest they went was $10 for 32GB

  • I've had two SanDisk Ultra Flair 32Gb flash drives since last week, before this deal was even posted. Price matched (and beat) at OW in Melbourne CBD. No issues whatsoever, they just checked that it's in stock at Scorptec.

    They do get very warm to hot depending on surrounding temperature. However, the case is made of metal, so the heat gets dissipated from the chip into the air. I would be really worried if this was an all plastic flash drive (plastic does not conduct heat).

  • 32GB priced match at Auburn OW, $7.60.
    Don't really even need one, but for that price, why not.

  • Hmmmm no more $8

    • just went back to $8, please check.

  • The 32gb price has gone up

    • Good news, the 32Gb one has been just back to $8, also 64Gb back to $15 ( with ETA: 12-02-2019 )

      The store seems to be updating the price, frequently, at the moment. I will update this post when it gets stable.

      All special prices have ended now.

  • At MSY stores they have the Kingston 32GB flash drive (USB 3.0) for $7. Which is normal price. Was in there yesterday. Also Sandisk 32GB (USB 2.0) for $6. Very slow transfer speeds for flash drives especially 2.0
