  • what. card do you need for gaming to drive this ?

    • might be able to scrape by with rx 570 or 580 or 1060 6gb to get 30fps

      • More than likely, that's a no. Depends on the game and settings. CS:GO would be well over 100 FPS. But something like Ghost Recon Wildlands you're going to struggle at sub 20 FPS.

    • I have 28" Samsung 4K screen and run games at 1080p without screen tearing and get good fps. Using a RX480. Imagine could do similar with this, though may be getting bit big for 1080p

      • Ue590d?

        • Sounds about right

          • @Xizor: Isn’t it blurry and pixelated at 1080p

Have the same monitor and it’s not as crisp when I go down to 1080p

    • A 2080/1080Ti/Radeon 7 if you want a pleasant 4k gaming experience in games that are not five year old esport titles.

      • You say pleasant but "Low" settings in games these days look surprisingly good.

A mix of "Medium" and "High" gets you to XB1X/PS4 Pro 4K image quality at 60FPS not 30.

If you have to play on low settings to begin with then your GPU will be obsolete at that resolution in two days. What's the point of buying a 4K monitor if you can't take advantage of it? just seems like a poor decision.

          • @Ostrk: Really depends how much gaming you do vs other use (browsing, work etc). Besides you can play high settings at 1080p

@Xizor: This. My gtx970 can't handle 4k games but for everything else (90% of my screen time) it is more than adequate, and looks great in 4k.

    • I have a GTX 1070 overclocked and it's definitely not enough for 4K. I regret buying 4K and really should have gone for a better 1440p monitor.

  • So I have a AMD Ryzen 7 1700x So it should run fine ?

    • Friend, thats the cpu, which has no igpu. it wont affect the performance as much as the gpu will. should also be an nvidia or amd component

  • I can tell you I get a cozy 32 fps at top settings on NFS Payback on a 780ti at 4K if that helps anybody

  • If it were ips I'd buy one for work

    • They do a non-4K option called VX3276 for $100 less that would be suitable for your work.

      • Nah, definitely after 4k (its what I use at home)
