Been shopping around for a doorbell that can hook up to my local NVR and found this model.
It can integrate with existing alarm system and electronic locks
Reviews are fairly positive

  Definitely function over form that one…
  Any idea if it can trigger an indoor chime without needing another $257 for the display
  I had a flick through the manual but couldn't see anything about it, unless I missed it.

      Was meaning an indoor chime you can hear without needing a phone.

      There is a cheaper display unit for $160, wonder if that's compatible.

  NOTE – this item isn’t standalone. It requires an indoor station like this if you want to use Hik Connect and connect it to your phone.

  The way i read the manual it will work fine with any NVR backend that can support its functions.
  Completely standalone it's nothing, but you wouldn't specifically need any of the units mentioned here or on the site.
  Many security NVR's can support connecting to chimes, and activating strikers etc… YMMV
