Hi all
My Samsung 830 series ssd died recently, after 8 years. I'm looking for a cheap ssd maybe around 240gb.
Can anyone recommend me a suitable ssd, mainly for windows. Won't have games installed on it.
Thanks

m.2 or sata?
I got a crucial MX500 off ebay yesterday for about $70 (240gb)
Samsung 860 Evo, or Crucial MX500 for a bit cheaper.
If you have a M.2. slot, 960 Evo.
I think 500gb is around $100 on ebay
I'm looking for the same. Is western digital SSD 1tb any good ? Blue or green ?
There are better options for the same money. I've heard of a few greens dying.
WD greens are dram-less SSDs. Unless you're a very light user, it's crap. Something respectable like a MX500 is usually only a little bit more.
Like above comments, if you are planning to use and rely on the SSD as the main drive and for long term use, don't go for the RAM-less drives. SSD prices are quite affordable nowadays too.
If you want to go for 250GB options due to lower price, then MX500 250GB (https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/232691803294), $69.60 after using eBay discount code "PUPGRADE".
480/500/512GB is the current sweetspot for value and function, add $30.40 more, and you'll get 500GB:
WD Blue 3D NAND 500GB SATA SSD (WDS500G2B0A500GB) 2.5" - $100 @ Amazon AU (Sold by Amazon AU)
https://www.amazon.com.au/500GB-Blue-NAND-SATA-inch/dp/B073S… (it has actually been a few months since it has been at this price)
Samsung 850 EVO is great value. Or an 860 EVO.
