Hi OzB,
I'm going to get my old kitchen in my 2 bedroom unit renovated.
Can anyone recommend me a kitchen designer?
First timer, so I'm not sure what to do? I have an idea of what I want, but with the number of companies out there -I don't know where to start - do I call and get multiple quotes, or am I stuck with one designer when I start as it'll be custom?
Advice/recommendations/what to look out for appreciated.
Hi ifcw,
I'm doing the same thing as you. Looking at renovating my kitchen for the first time. So far I've had 2 local kitchen renovator companies come through to quote. One provided me with 3D images and a detailed quote, the other just a price and a written description on what we discussed.
I used local companies to where I live as some of them I found charge just to quote if they have to drive too far. I wasn't really happy with either of their prices so I took some photos and threw an ad up on Airtasker with a description. Got another companies quoting on the job there too.
Bunnings is also an option as is Ikea. They both have online 3D model programs you can give it a crack yourself but they're pretty difficult to navigate.
As for me, I'm still getting quotes and different ideas. Every tradesman I speak to has different ideas and all speak dirty about any one else that quotes. I'm relying on reviews.
Good luck!
