Was talking with my uncle recently and he mentioned he would like to purchase a dash cam but didn't know which one to get.
I seen mainly viofo dashcams on Ozbargain , i was wondering if dash cams from Xiaomi are also good such as the 70mai for $55 AUD
I don't drive and don't know much about dash cams so any recommendations would be useful. Only looking for a Front cam for now.

How do you install this dashcam?
That page opens in a browser, then pushes you to download an app. Terrible experience.
Works fine on desktop.
Also the download an app thingo is only at the very top.

I always hear warnings about batteries expanding in the heat and damaging the device but my 70mai dash cam with a battery has been fine. I keep my car in the garage at home but at work it's parked all day on the rooftop. Maybe it's because I live in Melbourne where the max temperature usually doesn't go above 40.
40 outside temperature can equal 60 to 70 inside car temperature…
Yes and I've had no issues with the dash cam. I was suggesting that it could be more of an issue for somewhere like Alice Springs which regularly sees temperatures above 40, in which case the inside temperature would be even higher and for more prolonged periods.
Just bought my dad a navman mivue730. On first impression is does a great job, also has GPS which doesn't seem to feature on many other budget dash cams. Currently selling for $86 at HN, but I have seen cheaper.
