  • Seems expensive 🤔

Not when you need Telstra coverage, even wholesale one much better than the remaining two

        Nah…

    • +1

Seems expensive when I'm using Telstra SIM $5 for 30GB …

    • Nah, $149 for 32gb with Telstra (wholesale network) would be ok for me.

But certainly Optus is cheaper $120 for 60gb or $100 for 42gb with current sales.

      • Where can I find this optus plan. The website seems to have 60GB for $180 for a 365 day pre-paid plan.

        • In store there is a $60 discount. There is an ozb post about it. I'm on mobile so too hard to find

        • If you can find it in store (apparently special sim card) you will get extra $60 discount buying it in-store (as opposed to online). That brings it down to $120.
Apparently many shops have sold out the sim card.

I haven't heard about $100/42GB, which probably more suitable for me.

      • Hi @justtoreply,do you have more info/link to Optus' $100 for 42GB,please?

        • That offer is with Catchconnect. The other is direct with optus. There an ozb post about it. I'm on mobile so too hard to find

  • These are a good deal it's just a pity that you have to deal with the Aldi call centres overseas of course, I had to ring them 4 times on a terrible line each time with staff that have trouble understanding and speaking English and reading from a script. But if you can't get passed that the data pack I got works fine in pocket vodafone wifi.

  • Telstra $30 prepaid on special for $10 or 15, gives 30GB works out to be better.

But you will need a dual sim phone or a 4g modem.

1GB per month is a deal breaker - simply not enough data.
I think their business model here is to get you to buy their data add-on.

    • Yeah, but if you do the maths, with a data add-on it's quite reasonable (for Telstra wholesale)

      • well that depends on how many times you buy data add-on. I'm sure they hope you to buy many!

        • The previous data add-on was $15 for 3GB that expired in 30 days. $5/GB
Once the included data ran out it was $15/30 days to keep the data going even if you only used part of it.
People already on the super pack won't need to buy as many data add-ons.

The new larger data add-ons are better value and can be rolled over from year to year.
          $15/3GB is $5/GB
          $50/20GB is $2.50/GB
          $100/50GB is $2/GB.

  • for low end internet user there's heaps of option…I can see my 1 person who i know get this deal for text and calls, that person never into internet. forget this deal if you need more than 1GB.

  • If you are on the $249 super pack and don't need 80GB it's a way to switch to a cheaper option.
As the add-on data rolls over it's basically $99/year for unlimited calls and SMS but only 12GB data.
If you need more data it's $2/GB for the 50GB data add-on or $2.50/GB for the 20GB add-on.
If one 50GB add-on lasts you two years that's $149/year average for 37GB/year average.

  • The new Data options also apply to the other 1-Year Super Packs:

$249 1 Year Super Pack (still available to customers who previously bought the $249 or $299 Super Packs)

$299 1 Year Super Pack (no longer available for purchase after 1 October 2018)
